Brief Personal History: Lance was the adopted son of Samuel and Alicia Stirling. He grew up on the large family estate in the Western Hills section of the city. His childhood was considered normal despite having several run ins with the family ghost named Sir Guy. And a few other weird occurences around the mansion. He was sent to the finest schools and ended up graduating high school early. He was then sent on to college.

After graduating from Berkley with a BA in English Lance started writing on various subjects. Editors liked his style and he soon had a publicist named Seymor Krantz. Pretty soon he had several books on the Best Sellers List for the New York Times and other publications. That's when Lance decided to switch to topics that were what he really liked, sci-fi and fantasy. His fame grew and so did his fan base. He started going to comic book and sci-fi conventions to do signings. Lance used the money for charity, buy a home for himself, and then had one built for his parents on the backside of the vineyard he had bought.

His parents, being the owners and CEO's of Stirling Enterprises, sent Ian Melville to look after Lance. Ian also helped to manage the winery, house and vineyards.

Everything was going well until that fateful night the UFO crashed and destroyed his parents home. The alien died and transfered its powers to Lance who saw the whole disaster. It gave him one last gift. It buffered the memory of the crash and put Lance into a coma for a week till the powers had taken root inside him. He stopped ageing and is perpetually stuck looking like he's 20 years old. The other side effect of his condition he has to will himself into a sleep state. Otherwise he does not need to really eat or sleep.

Lance moved east to take care of his parents affairs and left Ian to run the vineyard and winery. He has recently taken control of Stirling Enterprises due to the death of his uncle Alan Stirling, his last remaining relative, in the EA Building disaster. Up until that time he had been a silent partner. Along with the company came an extra respondsibility to look after Team 1 and fund them in anyway possible. Due to a hidden agreement between his family and Edwards Associates, the owner a late hero named Equinox was an old family friend.

History Continued
Lance has had to do a lot of growing up so to speak in the last decade or so. Team1 offically agreed to disband and that section of business along with sponsorship of the Paragon Legion has been removed from Stirling Enterprises. This freed him up to continue on as both a business man/CEO/President of his company. On the outside he kept the name Starshadow for quite awhile and became known as a double dark weilding hero.

Unfortunately all good things came to an end. Though he had kept his hero personal and regular persona separate a business rival sent in a team of industrial espionage experts to infiltrate Stirling Enterprises. He almost lost his holdings and his fortune along with being outted as a superhero. His rival had almost convinced the board of Stirling Enterprises to allow a literal hostile take over of the company. Especially when it was revealed Lance and Starshadow, his "bodyguard", were one and the same.

However Lance stumped him by admitting to the media who he was, granting interviews and showing his public registration at city hall. After the media circus had died down he faded into the background and let the company speak for itself. Its good works and contributions have made it a force to be reconned with in the business and media worlds.

All the while Lance continued his hero work till he was called off world for unknown reasons. He was gone for a year. Then mysteriously turned up in Paragon General in a coma. Instructions on his care were left at his bed side for the doctors by means unknown. He woke up a month later and described feeling somewhat off. When he tried the mental link to his ship he barely got a whisper back from it. Ship was in self repair mode and would be for quite a long time.

After a few more days in the hospital Lance was released into Ian's care. He slowly recovered usage of his powers but something was still wrong. He tried to manipulate the darkness that he had always tapped into but could only shoot beams and bolts. Upon another test he watched in facination as he self generated a forcefield around Ian. Trying some other ideas he eventually figured out all he could do was use several forms of dark blasts and various light bending techniques. With this knowledge he went back to city hall to re-register himself. He became known as Twilight Avenger instead. Starshadow as no more.

Soon came the fateful tv broadcast of Mr. Z. The man intriged him and his mysteriousness pulled him in. And if it was one thing Lance loved it was a mystery.

Unfortunately for Lance this love of mystery has a tendency to block him off from the team he likes and people he becomes involved with. His relationship with the girl he thought was the love of his life, Caitlin, has cooled to only professional working standards from what was previously thought to be an engagement in the works. According to her he's changed so much in his attitude she can only work with him and not be involved. The constant disappearances have also not done anything for the two. He's been polite and backed off.

On the team front he's managed to get himself into lots of trouble by going off solo. The last mission was for Synapse and the team he'd run with on it almost did not live to the end till they all worked out the problem and attacked the Freak/Kheldian at once. This was a full field test of his new abilities and he did not know if he could handle so many force fields at once. But he managed somehow and sent a letter off to Z with his thoughts.

Lately he's started investigating things out in Independence port and Talos. Something is going on there and he's disappeared off the radar again.

(If it's not too late, your spelling of "Twilight Avenger" has an extra "gh" combination....)
