When the process becomes available, the killer of Prince Paragon (when I owned the name), Light Cry, would like to join the Urban Bushido if at all possible.
Her story (Directly for my Hero Corps entry):
Madness, an idea that always leaves it’s lover for dead, has left one young woman ravaged by her evasion from crime. She now lays thinking in a pool of sorrow, knowing what she is good at yet knowing that it’s immoral. She is an assassin, a free lance, and she is known for her prowess in doing her one and only job. So why may you ask, is this assassin weeping in her pool of tears? The story begins in Brooklyn, 1977.
The new born Sniha Sadhari moves to New York with her Sikh parents. They were fleeing the impeding crisis that was upon them in their home in Kashmir. They would swear to bring her child not to care about the lifestyles of other people, and treat everyone equally. Sniha grew up and kept this lesson in her heart, while her parents didn’t for long. At age 13 after 12 years of living in the US, Sniha went through a terrible mutation. While playing in the street, she ran into the street into impeding traffic. The cars should’ve killed her but they didn’t. Instead the cars were catapulted into a tenement half a mile away. And so her parents found out she was a mutant, as did the authorities. Scared and abandoned by her parents, she was a fugitive from the law. A then unknown character known as Nicolas Maligne picked her up, and brought her with him on his many travels.
From that point on Sniha and Nicolas, who would later become Lord Paragon (Threat #35), became inseparable. He taught Sniha of her mutation, a weird combination of light manipulation and a secondary mutation of gravitational kinetics. With Nicolas, she taught herself to use her body s the ultimate weapon, self teaching herself ancient martial arts techniques. Nicolas coined the first name for her, Grave Light, and she was put forth as the personal bodyguard and assassin of Mind Key. Together they wreaked havoc wherever they went, though in a slithering way. Fights would break out, arson would be committed, unsolved mysteries, all of this would occur when they stopped in the local village. Sniha knew how to do her job well and so she was rewarded and put in one of the top positions of the Corruptors of Paragon.
In 2003 she was sent to go to a secret Crey Lab while hidden to kill one of the subjects. Upon examining the corpse of what seemed to be a weak woman (the fight took no struggle according to the Crey videos), she noticed a tag saying ‘Light Cry.’ Loving the name and wanting a souvenir, she took it, not knowing that she had killed the bride of the original Lord Paragon, Paul Maligne. In other events she killed Sunbrunt, Touch Riff, Grand Paragon, and notably, Gravity Spill, aka David Maligne, Nicolas Maligne’s son. The report goes that she crept up behind him when he was focusing on how to deal with his father, causing massive visible pain to Nicolas. Backstabbing him she performed what may be considered her fall from villainy, she has only assassinated one other person after that event, a hero known as Prince Paragon.
Prince Paragon was an up and coming hero who had recently signed up to join the prestigious group known as the Urban Bushido, and was set to have his initiation the Tuesday after his death. He was a rich man and he was the boyfriend of the heroine known as Marrow Lash. As a favor to her desires he used his money and therefore power to hack into the Corruptors database to read the journal entries of Nicolas Maligne. Having done this favor for Marrow Lash, who is Nicolas’ daughter, they devised a plan to attack a base of the Corruptors. Knowing this because of the trail that they had left through his database, Nicolas sent Sniha to the site they would be attacking. Upon entering the database room that they were planning to destroy, Sniha came out of the shadows and killed Prince Paragon in one swipe. He died staring into the eyes of the love of his life, Marrow Lash. Sniha moved in for the kill onto Marrow Lash but she stopped for some unknown reason, and asked her cruelly why she cries so adamantly when she can easily find somebody in the singles pages. To this she yelled that she had killed her brother and her aunt, and now she had killed her love. This shocked Sniha, had she really been that cruel? In the shock, Marrow Lash threw a mass of bones in Sniha’s face, blinding her for a few seconds, letting Marrow escape with the body of her dead love.
Having let Marrow escape, Nicolas was tremendously displeased, so much so that for his next assignments he sent a new subject, Fuoco Morto, out to do his bidding. Seeing that she was replaced, she grew distant with Nicolas, leaving him after she observed him kill Paul Maligne, which led to him changing his name to Lord Paragon. She took all she owned and moved to Port Oakes and took up the name Light Cry in honor of the mother she killed, and decided to run on the path of redemption. She vowed to be out of the Rogue Isles within 6 months, and started to form contacts in Paragon by sending letters to Marrow Lash, no small feat when you live in the Rogue Isles. She has also contacted what would’ve been the home of Prince Paragon, The Urban Bushido, trying to explain her situation to an extremely skeptical leader known as the Widowed. Until the time arises when she can move to Paragon City, when she can go back to her family, back to justice, back to hope, she wallows in her tears, engulfed by the madness of her past and of the madness that runs amok at the Rogue Isles.
