His physical features became more reptilian, and he found his body was able to produce deadly toxins.
Height: 5’10”
Weight: 190
Build: Muscular (strength augmented by snake DNA)
Eye Color: Black
Hair Color: Brown
Race/Ethnicity: Formerly Caucasian
Strength Level: Professional Athlete
Likes: Reptiles, being in control, slipping poison into whatever he can, suffering
Dislikes: Birds of prey (they do hunt snakes after all), quick and painless deaths
Personality: Always manipulative, Snake rarely gets caught up in the moment, he is constantly planning ahead. He often has a personal agenda, and almost never considers the consequences for those around him. He acts for his own personal gain, and occasionally of those like-minded individuals around him, if only to watch them fall later. Quite sadistic, he gets pleasure from the suffering of his foes.
Quirks: He often over-pronounces his s’s, a result of his vocal cords being altered by the gene splicing. His gas mask assists in subduing this to a degree, but it is still noticeable. His eyes were also made very sensitive to light due to a slight error in the mutation, so he rarely removes his goggles. He also sheds his skin a few times a year.
History: Andrew Coltner had always been considered disturbed. As a child, he was briefly admitted to various mental asylums after killing his family's two dogs by pouring bleach into their water dishes. This event seemed to be isolated, so he was soon released. However, every so often, a neighborhood cat was found dead, poisoned by various household chemicals. None of these deaths were ever traced to Andrew, but many suspected him. Despite this, Andrew grew to become a brilliant student, excelling in science, chemistry and genetics specifically. He graduated from PCU with a degree in genetics.
As a child, he had been fascinated with snakes, and their ability to kill with a single bite. He began focusing all of his research on the chemical makeup of snake venom, as well as their genetic structure. After years of research and testing, he claimed to have finally found a way in which to create a being with the intelligence of a human and many physical features of a serpent. Needless to say, when he went public with this idea, the scientific community ridiculed him. This only fueled his drive to prove to them that it was possible. Lacking any substantial funding, he was forced to turn to various shady organizations. They promised to fund his endeavor, so long as he did a few favors for them, should his experiment be a success. He reluctantly agreed. Assembling the necessary equipment, he spliced his DNA and merged it with that of snake. What emerged was nothing short of a monster. While still humanoid in form, he had taken on many physical characteristics of a snake, scales covering his body. He was also able to secrete and manipulate the venom that now ran through his bloodstream. His moral compass had also taken a turn: he found he had no problem with the "favors" the organizations that funded him asked of him.
After he was free from the ties of the organization, he decided to pay a little visit to the scientists who had ridiculed him. Eight prominent scientists were all found dead in their labs within the next month, all having been poisoned by what appeared to be snake venom. The killings were referred to as the “Snakebite murders.” Leaving behind his old life, Andrew left behind his name, and with it, all evidence of his previous life. Snake-Bite was born.
