All members of Urban Bushido are encouraged to attend the Sparmaster Duels in the Arena tomorrow evening (Wednesday, 8:00 PM Central).
The duels will be conducted in formal tournament style. Any number of Urban Bushido members may join a match, and these people will be broken down into one referee, the two duelists and any number of spectators who wish to attend (there's no need for that silly flying camera stuff, as the action will be taking place on the ground anyway).
Matches will be set for a Weight Class just low enough to put the two duelists at an even security level. Five knockouts will indicate the winner of a spar, at which point we will be free to leave the match and begin the next spar. None of the matches will be rated, in order to preserve the Arena standings of the referee and any spectators not directly involved with the spar.
Inspirations will not be used during the event; Duelists are to triumph by virtue of their skills, savvy and power, nothing more. The use of any Inspiration will result in a disqualification by the referee, and the match will be decided in the other duelist's favor. If the victor is generous, he or she may allow the transgressor a rematch, provided that the transgressor vows to refrain from Inspiration use for the rematch.
Matches will be determined by a standard tournament tree which will be drawn up at the beginning of the event (ie. Sonic Star vs Dog Fight and Sterling Saber vs Iron Pillar; If Sonic Star won his fight and Iron Pillar won his, those two would face each other next). Given the common appearance of people who don't come and those who come unannounced, making a tournament tree here would most likely be pointless and irrelevant.
All Urban Bushido members participating in the Sparmaster tournament will meet in the Galaxy City arena, Emerald quarter, upper floor. Team colors and uniforms are encouraged.
If the turn-out is four members or more (including myself), the prize to be awarded the winner of the tournament will be either 50,000 Influence (awarded to the "original" version of the winner, back on Virtue) or a summary promotion in Urban Bushido's ranks, regardless of the standards for that rank (anyone promoted to Shodan will still have to get a uniform upon reaching SL20, but I can spend for the investment in this instance). Naturally, if the Widowed wins the tournament (and I'm sure Sonic and everyone else will be doing their best to prevent that), my only prize will be bragging rights. How does that sound? :)
