This is a movie that was shown here on campus at the school theater then that we showed as a part of the Diversity Movie series for the group of residence halls I work in.....so, it was my first time seeing it last night and I was just wondering if anyone else had seen it and what their thoughts on it were...

I saw it in theatres. I thought it was a well-made movie and definately a good idea but I did not get as excited as everyone else did. I think in the end I came out feeling like there were too many tales to weave together and that they weren't able to do it very elegantly. I like movies with interweaving plots like Magnolia and Traffic but Crash didn't seem to be as successful in pulling it off as those others.
The acting ranged from good to mediocre. Ultimately, I think it's a movie worth seeing and it was definately a good idea and try but didn't quite make itself a great movie for me.

I can't say I felt 'excited' about it afterwards. I don't know, it wasn't just the acting (because you're right it probably could've been better) but the story/stories, some in particular felt like they were what really struck me, as far as like wondering what I would do in some of those situations.......

Yea, the stories succeeded in being pretty confrontational and you ended up with few "noble" characters since pretty much all of them were terribly racist. In that way the movie was cool because it was trying to make you think of those things you try not to think about while walking down the street everyday.

Is this the Cronenberg movie called "Crash", about people who get sexually aroused by car wrecks?

No Rando....although there is a car wreck scene in the movie. It's about several groups/people in LA (? I think, I missed the beginning of the movie) and how racism affects people's lives and links them together.....or something to that effect.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one thinking of that movie. I never saw it, but know what it's about and that 2 couples somehow swing or something. Was wondering if that was what you meant by "interwoven". But I guess you meant this new movie with the chick who gets hit by some stoners' bus or something like that.
