So, I haven't been playing CoV all that much. But I'm planning on my main being a dominator, in all likelihood. Initially, I wanted to be Mind/Psi just for the character concept. But I tried a plant/ice dominator on the weekend, and really liked it. It has the seeds of confusion ability which would let me have close to the same effect as a mind dominator for RP purposes, controlling people through pheremones/spores rather than through mind control. Haven't tried it out yet, but AOE confuse at level 8? Sign me up. And vines are fun.
The ice fits the nature sort of theme, and have to like power boost being part of the secondary. I became a huge power boost fan with Verdant Mania, my elec/energy blaster. Having it on a dominator is going to be amazing.
I teamed up with a ninja mastermind for a short while, and the combination was impressive. Lock them all down, send in the goon, mop up the pieces.
I'm sure I'll make one of each, mind/psi and plant/ice. But I have the feeling the plant dominator will win out.

I made a mind/psi due to my character concept, and I am loving it. I can two shot just about anything with a Levitate/Psy bolt combo. With Domination I can One shot anything with Levitate or some attack I can't remember. My mass Sleep attack ar lv 8 rocks.
All in All I love it and it fits my character so well.

I'm just excited about Fire Imps for Lantern Jack. So far he's the only character I've seen for who that Imp thing works.
But yeah, domination is awesome. Once I get a few PBAOE's, I will be tearing things up. Lock them down with a cinderblast, then eat them alive with fire breath and the AOEs....why aren't more people playing fire dominators?

I have a plant controller that I play along with my wife's character. So far, I'm really liking what I'm seeing with it. Looking forward to the pet, but currently, I'm having a relatively easy time controlling large groups of enemies.

Skipping Total Focus, Sniper Blast and Power Burst will make you into a very annoyed player at later levels.

I haven't gotten to play it yet, but Whiptail, my pseudo homage to Dr. Viper of the Swat Kats, is going to fit Plant Control perfectly, and with Psionic Assault as his secondary he's going to fit his rp powers near to perfection. I'm just disappointed that their is no Rat or Animal Mastermind set. A plant mastermind set would be cool to.
