View Full Version : ED and Empathy Defenders.
I think they'll take the hardest out of all of the Defenders. I've seen a lot of Empathy builds, and the majority of the powers are 6-slotted with heals. So any of you Empathy Defenders working out your current builds to fit the new ED implementation?
Im working on it, and actually, i think i am only going to adjust my build a little bit. There's nothing else really to put into the heals, so we'll see.

Well I suppose this at least means that I can now slot my offense earlier...or something... Mind posting your build Dee? I'm curious as to what folks are doing with ED.
I wouldn't mind doning that at all once ED comes out. I might hit up the test server and check it out tomorrow. If i do, i'll be sure to post what i come up with.

I'll try and post my build for Lollipop tomorrow after I have some time to work on it.
I'm dropping Hasten and Stamina completely though.

I never had Stamina with NRC to begin with so your build may be fitting for her.
Alright, here's the build that i came up with. Im not sure if im happy with it or not.

I think I'd do 4 Heals, 1 recharge, 1 end reduc

I've seen people add recharge reduxs and end reduxs to their 6 slotted heals. Recharge reduxs will help with recharge time of healing aura. It's slow to recharge without hasten running. I've had a tougher time keeping people alive with the ED restrictions.
I'll need to respec my Emp/Dark Defender to incorporate the recharge redux enhancements, add slots that I gave to other powers when I respeced.
Never had stamina with my defender because RA down time pre-ED was low but with ED, RA is down a lot longer so I kept Hasten, just 4 slots instead of 6.
I think ED gimped everyone. Some worse than others.

OMy I was hoping for this to come up. I am getting very frustrated...
I have all my heals slotted 3 heals 3 recharge I also have Stamina 3 slotted...It really helps with the recharge however my hit points have definitely taken a hit, but they are close to what it was after ED with 6 slotted heals...So I would rather them recharge faster, then get another 100 of hit points.
My problem seems to be that the Tankers and Scrappers seem harder to heal...is it just me, or is anyone else feeling this too? Im getting very frustrated with being an Empath and have almost completely stopped playing her because of it...I would love to get her from 44 to 50 so any suggestions on slotting would be fabulous.

Okay, so I never did post Lollipop's build... meh.
Healing Aura: 3x heal, 1x recharge, 1x endredux
Heal Other: 3x heal, 2x recharge (I might 6 slot this and add an end redux with the next freebie)
Absorb Pain: 1x heal (I didn't have the damn power from levels 1-50 pre ED, now I took it because I NEED it after they gutted tanker resists and defenses. The base slot with a ++heal does around 900 and change. I took it really late and lose it in most TF's and such :) )
Fortuitude: 2x defbuff, 1x tohitbuff, 3x recharge (I can still mostly keep 2 people covered this way.
Clear Mind: 1x recharge
Recovery Aura: 3x recharge, 2x endredux, 1x endrec (If you're somehow low on end, (more likely with the HUGE downtime on this), you need it cheap.)
Regeneration Aura: 3x recharge, 2x endredux, 1x heal (many people don't take it. In the age of ED I love it. Those nicks and scrapes that don't merit a heal can easily be covered with this.)
Adrenaline Boost: 3x recharge, 1x heal, 1x endrec (1 person covered, pretty much perma. Great for people left out of the auras or Nova babies so they can save their blues.)
Rez: 1x recharge, 2x endredux (Just a given.)
I do have Stamina 3 slotted.
I also run Tactics, Maneuvers and Assault.
My APP was Psi Mastery so I run Mind over Body as well.
The Dominate hold to me = 100% damage mitigation so I use it on threats, (sappers, AV's to stack mag, etc).
Thus far this is working out and I've done some AV missions with the build. Sometimes people die. It happens. We can't save the world on our own... but damnit we can try! :D

I'd be careful taking Absorb pain because 1) you take some of the damage you heal the person for and 2) you can't recover health for a short period of time, I've heard you can activate Regenaration Aura and you can recover health that way. But I've seen emp defenders go down while trying to save others in the team.
If you are going to be a "Healer", as people like to call them, then get it because it can heal for a lot more than heal other and heal aura put together. You'll be able to see the tanker's or scrapper's hp go up dramatically with Absorb pain. I've seen it heal of over 1000+ pre-ED.
So the choice is yours! :D
