BIOGRAPHY:Growing up in the metropolis of Toronto Canada, Seth was the smartest boy in the whole city putting professors of physics, chemistry and Quantum theory to shame. By the time he learned to speak which he learned to do at two months, finishing university by the age of twelve he was widely regarded as the smartest person alive at age 20. While at a science conference in paragon city, the Rikti invaded hoping to capture the worlds greatest minds (which Seth was part of) in hopes that it would cripple the humans defences. Rounded up with the other scientists Seth was forced to board the rikti spacecraft and then it vanished into thin air.
Close to year later a rikti craft appeared in the sky over atlas park, just as the Freedom Phalanx was about to attack it, the door shot open revealing Seth and some of the other scientists. It turned out that the original spacecraft transported them to the Rikti Home world where they were forced into slavery building tech for the Rikti. Then about two months after they arrived Seth led a revolt killing many Rikti and gaining their freedom. They stole a ship and headed off the planet but on the way out of the upper atmosphere they where shot at by the rikti Planetary defence guns, they made it through but there ship was badly damaged so they limped to the closest inhabitable planet. They repaired their ship the only part they could not fix was perhaps the most important the navigation system was completely obliterated. Seth build a crude navigation computer out of spare parts and they headed home, about half way their fuel ran out unable to stop for fear of not starting again they coasted for months saving what little fuel they had left for the return entry into earth's atmosphere. Months later when they reached earth they fired up the engines and entered it’s atmosphere, re-entry was a success.
It soon became apparent that Seth was due to be rewarded by some of the worlds greatest nations, he was knighted by the queen of England. He was offered to be named a saint by Rome (which he declined). The states offered him a lead position in army intelligence (which he also declined) the only other thing he took was unlimited resources and funding for what ever scientific ventures he could think of . His first invention was a portal generator which could transport any form of matter. The second was a copy of the Rikti planetary defence guns which fired a highly volatile radioactive beam of electrons, this gave the U.S. government the idea of shooting the gun though Seth’s portal at the Rikti home planet. This appalled Seth but defying the government meant that there would be no more funding for his projects so he reluctantly agreed but he made it clear that he would be the one to fire the weapon as he would not see anyone hurt if things went awry. On test day Seth went to the general in charge of the operation, he pleaded him to Reconsider but the general had his mind set on destruction and waved off Seth's pleas. When it came time to fire the gun Seth opened his portal and prepared the countdown process, just as the gun was about to fire a Rikti spy planted in Seth's lab detonated a bomb killing himself and throwing Seth out of the gun's operating chair and into the portal just as the gun fired hitting Seth. Thus shoving him through the portal but instead of teleporting him to the Rikti home planet it fired him into wall on the other side of the portal it seem the spy had tampered with the portal in case his bomb had not worked they wouldn’t be able to fire at the Rikti capital.
Soldiers rushed to Seth who was now lying on the floor by the portal, smoke rose from his body which was covered in burns and lacerations, his mind was lost in a comatose state. The soldiers soon found a nauseating pain filled they're stomachs it was soon realised that Seth was highly radioactive. A HAZMAT team was quickly assembled and Seth was moved to a nearby hospital. Waking up from his coma three days later he found himself surrounded by doctors in hazmat suits and not knowing where he was, he soon learned that due to his accident he was now just a shell. His body was filled with unstable electrons upon hearing this Seth flew into a rage and started trashing the room all of a sudden a blinding pain filled his head and a green flash emitted from his body killing everyone in the room. Filled with remorse Seth fled to an old condemned high school where he found some hellions preparing to sacrifice a young women to some heathen god they worshipped. Remembering the hospital Seth held up his hand and tried to direct the green flash at one of the hellions nothing happened. Seth noticed the hellion draw a blade to the woman’s throat and he yelled to get his attention but as Seth’s eyes levelled on the hellion, green beams fired out of his eyes turning the thug into a pile of smouldering flesh.
The other hellions saw this and ran at Seth he turned quickly raising an arm sending a green bolt of electrons at them quickly turning them into ash. The woman ran to thank him but fell ill with radiation poisoning .
Seth ran to his lab and locked the door behind him realising he could never come in contact with another human in his present state.
He built himself a containment suit to keep others safe while he learned to control his new powers he took the name Black Nova and patrolled the streets hoping to redeem himself for killing the hospital staff.
