:chuckle: Haha, great one.
I really dig how Snape is drawn.

I was digging Legolas myself. :D
In particular, I wanted to slap Katherynne the catgirl. Annoying as blazes, wasn't she? "I'm a catperson, in case you were wondering." Well, I wasn't, but okay. I'm glad she went up when the tower did....
And wasn't that Draco Malfoy who shot Serenity down on page 2? He wasn't drawn as fresh-faced as he looks in the movies, but the expressions seem to be spot on. :)

Jesus, I thought this was a joke until a couple of pages in.
A shame that someone who could draw faces that well was wasted on this.

That's pretty hilarious.

You mean it wasn't a joke? Why wasn't I briefed?

I don't consider it a waste myself. It satired the Mary Sue syndrome quite nicely. If he couldn't draw pretty faces, would the comic have had the same effect with a bunch of ugly or poorly drawn Mary Sues?

I went back and looked, and it's just damn hard to tell. The whole site is about Harry Potter, so it's not like it's beyond this person. That and there was a hell of a lot of energy put into those drawings for it to be a spoof. Maybe my sense of humor just isn't on point lately.

I guess the humor translates better if you're familiar with (and have come to detest) any number of Mary Sues in literature, cinema or whatever form of entertainment you prefer. Like Alice from the Resident Evil movies. Resident Evil already has its established canon, and she just comes in and flips it all over on its head, because she's perfect and invincible and all. Why was Alice thrown in? Because somebody wanted to see Milla Jovovich floating naked in a big glass tank, I guess.
I'm sure she's not the only well-known Mary Sue out there. Who else here has a Mary Sue they know and loathe? Sound off. :)

Okay, I didn't read it the whole way through. Yeah, that's pretty funny.

But it would have been funnier if you were the one writing it, eh? :P

I don't get it. Are they making fun of pathetic fanfic writers who put themselves into stories?

I think so. In these godless days it's hard to tell if it's that or the author just getting rid of the competition so she can be the prettiest Sue.
I choose to view it as the former because it's funny that way.

Yes, it's satire. Just like it suggests on Page 1. The message implies that the author doesn't like Mary Sues either. Not to mention there's Anastasia's evil visage in the final frame.... :)
