Melonie Thawne, Impulse's/Kid Flash's mother. Wally and the Zooms were fighting on the treadmill, something hit Captain Boomerang, and he time traveled to that period in the future. The rest can safely be assumed from there, they did it, went through pregnency, then sent him and the baby back to where he came from.

I like him, a boomerang master with super speed, should be a great enemy. BUT! From his story alone, he should have arch-rivals with Robin and Kid Flash too. I'd like to see him go against the Teen Titans with say.. Red Hood?

How can DC's universe continue to be "darkened" by the likes of Winnick, Rucka and the rest of the gang, and yet use such Silver Age'esque copeouts?

Because DC loves to use crap stories for characters that i doesn't intend on keeping around long I guess.

I don't think it's all the bad an idea. It gives the Rogues more of a tie to the Flash legacy now. Personally I think DC is rocking these days. Though I'm sad to to see Johns leave the Flash as the most current issue without him sucked. :(
