As the thread title says: What was the last movie you watched? It doesn't have to be in the theater, can be anything, from Made for TV Movies to a DVD you picked out of your collection.

Last one I watched was 'Falling Down' with Michael Douglas. What happens when a white-collar worker goes over the edge, when his car gets stuck in traffic on the hottest day of the year? He decides to get out of the car and walk home...

... and lash out at society at the same time.

Movie theater: Sin City
TV: ... I watched the begining of Sleepless in Seattle (never saw the very beginning) until I realized what movie it was. BaH  A whole movie? Um... that cheerleader one where they rob a bank dressed up as Bettys, the head cheerleader is preggers. I was bored. :|
DVD: Shrek II

Last movie I saw?

Holes. It's a Disney film, but it doesn't look or feel like a Disney film. I was really surprised at how good this movie really was. It's so good, that I now want to add it to my movie collection.

Just before that we saw Sideways. Now, don't get me wrong, this was a good movie, but a comedy? Sure, there were funny parts in it, but a comedy it is not. And Best Movie nominee? Again, a good movie, but still, I didn't feel it should have been nominated. Of course, YMMV.

While I was sick last week, I watched "Old School" just to hear the wedding singer's version of "Bright Eyes".

"F*ckin' every now and then I fall apart!"

"The One" with Jet Li.

It was alright, I guess. I'm not a big fan of the kung fu genre.

I watched Kill Bill vol. 1 with my mom again.

When Kiddo goes like "O-Ren, we have unfinished buisness!", its just unforgetable.

Pi, what a film. Granted, not for everyone but I make a point of watching it every so. I have the soundtrack as well, possibly one of the best fitting I've ever heard, that's not to say it can't stand alone either, it's excellent in both contexts.

Although I feel I have to mention what I went to see in the cinema the other week. Der Untergang (or The Downfall), a film about the last days of Berlin in Hitler's bunker. It was brilliant, I'm fairly sure it's going to be the best film I see this year.

"Sahara".

Not a bad little action-adventure flick, but all believability goes out the window during the last 20 minutes in a string of completely implausable events.

Have you read any of Cussler's Dirk Pitt novels? They are LOADED with fantastic leaps of logic and strings of implausable events. :D

Back on topic: We rented "Troy" yesterday. You know something is wrong with a film when all you can do is think of what each actor has done in the past. With that in mind, here my short recap of "Troy" with each major part spelled out using each actors previous work....

Two Trojan princes, Legolas and his older brother Bruce Banner, journey to Sparta. There, Legolas seduces Helen, the wife of Hamish, the King of Sparta. Legolas, Helen, and Bruce Banner sail back to Troy and are welcomed home by Colonel T. E. Lawrence, the King.

Hamish is angry as heck. He goes to Mycenae where he convinces his brother, William Stryker, to go to war against Troy. Hamish and Stryker enlist the aid of Boromir to convince the mighty warrior Mickey O'Neil to join the fight.

They all head to Troy. There is what appears to be a stalemate. Mickey insults the gods and locks horns with Stryker. Hamish is killed by Bruce Banner. Bruce Banner is killed by Mickey O'Neil. Boromir builds the Trojan horse. Colonel Lawrence is killed. Stryker gets killed too. Legolas uses a bow and arrows to kill Mickey. Though not shown in the film, Boromir survives and has an incredible journey home.

Der Untergang, brilliant film about the 14 last days in Hitler's bunker, as Got said. Most interesting thing about it is, that's it's adapted from Traudl Junge's (The main character in the movie as well) autobiograhy and Bruno Ganz is amazing and freigthening as Hitler.

Plus to add to the symbolism, I saw it on the 20th of April, Hitler's Birthday.

Movie theater: The Incredibles - Fantastic fun stuff :)

DVD: Closer - It was okay, suffers from the talkiness of all plays turned into movies. Clive Owen rocked though.

TV: Footloose - Is there any doubt I loved this 80's treasure?
