Shan picked up her com and them put it down for the third time. Her anniversary with the Major was coming up and she wanted to be able to make him a nice dinner. "For god's sake, Shan, just call him. He offered." She muttered to herself. He wasnt in so she left the message:
"Uh hello? Mister President? This is Shan....erm...Endless One. You offered to teach me how to cook. If that offer is still open I'd like to take you up on that."
Now she would wait, probably he was too busy and was just being nice but she'd see.

Location: The Mansion of Sebastian Kain, President of the Silent World Order.
Specifics: The Conference Room
Time: Mid Morning
The conference room of Sebastian Kain was decorated with various awards and acolades belonging to the leader of the Silent World Order. It also served as his personal office for conducting day to day business within the walls of his humble abode. There was a meeting going on between Kain and a several other members of his council. However, this meeting was not all about business, it was actually pretty light hearted and relaxed.
SK stood looking outside the massive window directly behind his desk. It was one of three windows inside the room. He was accompanied by two other members of his council in a purple pigtailed young woman sitting atop his desk and another brown haired man with glasses standing in a corner with a headset over his head. Several nicely dressed men filled out the rest of the room. These were most likely Agent personel, because they were quiet while the other three conversated amongst themselves...
"Well, I have no idea what I'm going to do for today. I guess I'll find a party to crash or something...Prez you mind if I take one of the Hummers out today?" said Amicitia as she reached over into his desk for one of his candy treats.
"You know that is too big for you... said Gamma-Field with a hint of sarcasm in his voice.
Amicitia tilted her head at him with a smile across her face
"I'm sure I can manage." she replied with a wink.
"You know I don't care." SK replied interrupting the banter between the duo. His gaze still fixated outside the window.
"Cool!" she said happily as she stuck her tongue out at Gamma-Field.
She noticed new message light blinking on Kain's answering machine.
"Sir, you have a new message. I'll play it back for you. she pressed play on the machine and everything in the room with silent to hear it play back.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Uh hello? Mister President? This is Shan....erm...Endless One. You offered to teach me how to cook. If that offer is still open I'd like to take you up on that."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
The message ended and Amicitia's treat nearly fell out of her mouth as her jaw dropped wide open. Gamma's nearly did the exact same thing and some of the Agents in the room broke their cool for a bit to take a quick glance at the Prez, who was still starring outside the window.....
"What are you all staring at? You never knew I could cook did you? You'd be surpised at what I could do. Carry on with your dailey activites, this meeting is dismissed. All of you. he said as his head tilted it over his shoulder.
The agents were the first to leave out, followed by Gamma and Amicitia. Gamma stopped to make a comment in the doorway to Amicitia. He whispered..
"I never knew the *old* man had it in him." he said.
"I never doubted him, I guess. But it will be quite funny to see him pull it off. she replied with a giggle as she skipped out the door and down the hall.
SK turned around and smiled as the door closed behind them. His ever elusive *shadow* took by his side once again. What was really instore remained to be seen....

Shan approached the mansion none too comfortable with the structure as it was called "home" to someone else. She'd been in several fabulous "homes" in her old line of work but it didn't get easier every time. This girl never forgot the nothing she was from and the less than nothing she let herself become before she became the woman she was now. But the Prez was cool and friendly, and so that made this doable.
She rang the doorbell and took a long breath. Dressed in faded, ratty jeans and her new "Vote for Pedro" T-shirt she picked up at the mall the other day she waited.

Sebastian Kain made his way to grand victorian style kitchen as he heard the doorbell ring within the walls of the compound. The melody was an interesting one, it was Hail to the Chief, his arrogance showed tried and true even in something as insignifcant as a doorbell ringer.
As he reached the kitchen, he prepared himself for what was instore. His pupil was already and waiting at the front door, for their cooking project. He grinned at his oppournity to be a bit more relaxed that he normally would be, on anyday of the week. The ingrediants they needed were all out and ready to be used in their suprise dish for the day. It was a pretty simple plan, they would be making italian dinner for several members of the Order. Most of the council and a few members from the cabinet. His comlink went off as he began to take the cookware out of the cabinets.
"Your guest is here, Mr. Kain." said a voice over the link.
"Very Good, Langston. Bring her to the kitchen." he replied as he shut the comlink off.

She let herself be lead by the servant through the palace of the house. She didn't really know why she was so nervous, after all she was invited here. But she felt like a rag-a-muffin dressed as she was. She didn't really want to ruin nice clothes for this. Who knew what disasters she was about to create. She feared that Mr. Prez had no idea that she couldn't even make a propper pot of coffee.
The kitchen was bigger than the apartment she grew up in with her mother. She spotted her friend and smiled broadly, suddenly feeling more at ease spotting a familiar face. "Hello!" She crossed the room to shake his hand. "I want to thank you for doing this. I don't necessarily need to be a four star chef, but I'd like to be able to surprise the Major with my new skills. But I warn you, I'm really terrible."
