I stumbled upon this image on the web. It was too good to ignore so I slathered some color on it.

I wonder who this could be..... ;)

Since my coloring skills are on par with a drunken gorilla, here is the original image in case someone with some real skill wants to make something out of it. :)

Great choice of colors. Want some advice? If not dont read any further. :p

Asuming you're using Photoshop

*Open your image up.
*Use the lasso or whichever and cut the entire layer, then paste onto it's own layer
*Your background should be blank at this point
*The layer your ink is now in. In the layer options Make that layer "multiply". This will keep the clean inks but make it transparent to the bottom layers.
*Put in your colors on your blank layer.
*To clean it up you can use your lasso on the coloring layer to remov any colors that escaped from the lines.

D'oh! When I make my aircraft skins, I do that to preserve the seams and rivet lines. It never occured to me to use that method with this. To save a little time, I used a 'remove white' filter to isolate the drawing's lines.

Thanks Veik! Here is what it looks like now. :)

Now... can I persuade you to teach me how to do some rudimentary shading?

Ok. How's this? This is as about as far as I can go. If anyone else can add some touches to it, I would be grateful. :)
