Hi! Just have a JSA question that I hope someone can answer.
I just ordered Justice be Done TPB And The Return of Hawkman TPB
on Amazon Justice Be Done is said to be Vol 1 and Return of Hawkman is said to be Vol 3
What TPB is Vol 2?
Darkness Falls is the second book in the TPB series. Hope you enjoy the series. :)

Return of Hawkman is one of my personal favorite JSA stories, and I hope you enjoy the series as much as I do.

JSA is one of those series that does great as a trade.... and that says alot, considering how great is is monthly!
But the arcs in JSA are pretty epic at times, and it's nice to be able to sit down and read them at once (or at least in large chunks over a short time) rather than coming back a month later and catching up, possibly forgetting something.
I'd have to go hunt down the last issue if CBGM I picked up, but I think JSA got "Favorite Title" for something last the last 4 years in their fan awards.
Plus, I love Atom Smasher. Even if the DC encyclopedia does list him as "Undecided" rather than "hero" or "villain". *mumblemumble*

Keep a lookout for the Black Reign trade due out soon. It's a Hawkman/JSA crossover that will change the team's current lineup.
There's also a great series that JUST finished called JSA/JSA, which featured the JSA of the past and present-day's JSA teaming up against the Time Travelling Facist, Degation.
Next month's JSA will be a totally new arc featuring the potential return of Captain Marvel.

Hey Twi, I told that one issue with Degaton would lead to something sweet. You owe me a Pepsi!
And yes, you should get a hold of every single trade/issue of JSA that you could possibly find. One of the best team books I've EVER read.

Princes of Darkness (The last on that came out) is one of my favorites, aside from Black Reign. It is, admittedly, mired in continuity, but heck, so's the whole series... it's why we love it!
Now that JLA/JSA:Virtue and Vice is out in paperback trade, it's also pretty nice.
Speaking of the JLA/JSA:Virtue and Vice tpb if you can also find the November issue of JSA there is a little continued plotline from it. Yep they did another thanksgiving dinner together (JSA #54). Which led to the december issue (JSA #55) with Ma Hunkel in a Santa suit (if you can guess who Ma Hunkel was you get a :cake: )

I have to admit I've only read Justice be Done, Darkness Falls and JLA/JSA, and I know this sounds sacreligious, but I really don't see the big deal in JSA, I mean I can appreciate the mix of the modern era with the golden age, but I don't feel it's really anything special.
Care to enlighten me?

I'll admit, I was skeptical about JSA myself, but upon reading one issue and noting the incredible chemistry between each and every team member, you'll soon become hooked as well.
I can't think of any way to really sell you into JSA because the bottom line is, the only real way to describe JSA in a way that would do the book justice is to actually have one go out and buy a particular TPB.
I dunno, something about having the OLDEST of the old school heroes, Wildcat, Green Lantern and The Flash taking the new schoolers under their wing makes fo r some great storytelling. I don't think any book out there has the same chemistry as this team. Not even the JLA.

No. There is no other team book out there with the same feel and chemistry. But if Darkness Falls wasn't enough to make you a believer, it might not be your thing.

I think my problem was that I just felt so hyped about it, it just couldn't live up to it. It's still good, but not as great as people have been calling it.
And this (http://www.mykey3000.com/cosmicteams/jsa/) is one of the best and most comprehensive sites I have ever seen on the JSA. Lots of info here. :) Guess where Empy gets some of her costume ideas too. :D

Nice site Gaia! Thanks! :)
I am currently into the 3rd TPB. (Return of Hawkman) And, I have to somewhat agree with Solario. I can see the difference from say the JLA, but I have not really picked up on any chemistry yet from the group. I know the group is still forming, so that chemistry is ahead. These are not bad stories; but I have yet to feel the same way toward them as I do toward the JLA.
