Ok, when this first came out, I wanted it but, couldn't bring myself to shell out the $50.00. Now, it's dropped to $20.00 and I picked it up.
Right outta the box, you're in the action as you converge on a crack house, taking out a rapist along the way to learn about the interrogation thing. A couple minutes into the game and I learn that the shotgun is my weapon of choice. Big bang, hits hard and is just plain fun to watch the punks go flying. I also like the fact that they got Tom Jane (from the Punisher movie...which I loved) to do the voice so, the Punisher sounds very gruff and gritty.
Anyhoo, I played through the first mission and like it a lot. My one big complaint is the camera controls. The camera's controlled by the right analog stick (PS2 version) and sometimes, in the heat of a fight, you can wind up aimed at the ceiling and get yourself killed...been there done that already :p
Once you start getting used to the camera controls though, it's pure Punisher style fun. From plain ole blasting anything that moves to putting pimps in choke holds to putting someone's face on a lit stove :look: , it's pure adrenaline packed action.
However, and I stress this big time, DO NOT play this game is you're at all squeemish. It's very graphic, has a lot of profanity and your main goal is to kill the bad guys...in very nasty ways. Mario Bros it ain't.
Still, if you just want something to relieve the stress, nothing's better than sticking a drug pusher's face into a table saw..... :D
