View Full Version : Positron's TF. How important is it?

This has been bugging me all week. I've been playing alts instead of Flameshrike because I didn't want to outlevel this TF. But now I'm sick of it and want to get on with things. But before I do something rash, I just wanted to know if doing this TF was a prerequisite for anything else or connected in some way. I want to make sure I don't hose myself by skipping it and finding out later that I needed to have it completed for something else.
Don't get me wrong though. I love my other characters as well, but I'm sick to death of the Hollows/Perez Park/Kings Row sights and sounds. I was actually getting into Steel Canyon and Skyway City (as well as killing Lucsa in IP and other early to mid 20s stuff). I was looking forward to a lot of stuff (the TF included) but am finding it impossible to get a good group together due to the time commitment.
So, do I really need to wait it out til I can put together a decent group or can I just skip it and no harm, no foul?

It's not a pre-req for anything. (You get a badge for it, but it's not part of any accolades.)
Also, you can rsk to do it. (I'd wait until they fix the system so you don't crash out of the TF if your exp crashes.)
Spoiler: (In black)
It's an okay TF. There isn't an AV at the end, so it's kind of a letdown. However, the story is kinda funny.

I wanted it for Sech real badly, and after A LOT TRIES (!) I got it. But now I NEVER EVER want to do it again. It is the worst TF I played so far: long, many defeat all, lots of missions, and sometimes a bit bugged :grr:

If you cant find a group, you can go ahead and solo the eintire Tf, just randomly invite 2 people and kick them xD

I remember a semi humourous event revolving that TF, it involves eight heroes, a bazillion ailing zombies and it ends after about six tries on the first mission. Ahh good times. :sarcastic

Easiest way to do Posi: Get two other people to help you start it. Then they quit the TF. Then you just solo it. There's no AV at the end. SO it's just the same as just soloing ca 12 missions in a row.

Personally, I don't like that one. Of course, that may be because the first time I did it, it took 13 hours...(WAAAAY back.)

This made me think of a question...
Let's say you have a high-level character and you want to solo the Positron TF. He invites two friends, gets exemplared, and starts then TF. Then his friends quit the group, at which point he's no longer exemplared. Does the TF still function?

Nope, don't think so.

I think the Positron TF has a cool and funny story. Only drop point is that it takes nearly 7 hours.
Just remember that you can still do it when you rsk.

Ah, but if you solo it, you can quit when you like and then just resume it where you left off when you log back in. As long as you have a solo-capable build it's no problem.
For doign it with a team, you should really have max 3 teammates. And make sure you bring lots of damage.

Yeah, my build is very solo capable (s'what it was designed for). Fire/devices with 4 slotted Fire Blast and Fireball, 2 slotted Fire Breath, 3 slotted Targeting Drone, 3 slotted Hover, 4 slotted Hasten, and Super Speed. All with level 15++ DOs. All attacks have damage, TD has tohit buff, Hover has flight speed.
I'll have to give it a shot once I hit 16, I think. Thanks all :)

And two nights, if I recall. Har, those were the days...
