I know that Stamina is extremely important (for everyone, really) but I do have a question.
I have 3 attacks (Fire Blast, Fireball, Fire Breath) and was really considering getting a 4th at level 16 rather than start the Hurdle/Health/Stamina sequence. My question is, considering the fact that I'll have Hasten fully slotted by 20, would delaying Stamina be a bad idea? Is there a real need for more than 3 attacks for a fire blaster pre-20? I like Fire Breath, since I think it's less situational than Rain of Fire would be. But is Aim or Smoke Grenade worth putting off Stamina for 2-6 levels? I don't like the sound of Blaze since it's a close range attack (and Fire Breath does that for me already, with far longer reach) but then again, I'm a n00b so I don't know really what 'close' range would qualify as.
Just curious if the more seasoned heroes would be able to clue me in on this. Thanks! :)

I've not a ton of experience with fire blasters, but it basically boils down to how effective you feel you are now, attack-wise. If you're constantly waiting on your attacks to recycle, then I'd go four attack number four. If, on the other hand, you're noticing your endurance getting a bit low after fighting a group of 3 or 4, go for stamina. Once you crap out of endurance during those big party fights with a room full of enemies, it REALLY throws off the pace of damage.

Get Stamina. No question.
You're in a tough spot though, because Fire Blast is the absolute worst single-target set for blasters, and Fire Breath is a pretty bad AOE power ultimately; the End cost is too high, the range is too short, and the animation is far far too long. That being said, at your levels you can proabably do just fine relying on Fire Blast until you get Stamina. You should also wait to fully slot Hasten until later; your endurance drain will be horrific with it running all the time and Fire Blast's attacks cycle quickly enough that it really doesn't make a huge difference in your damage ouput over a long fight, and trust me, long fights are just what you want to avoid. Oh, and if you have Devices, forget about Aim and go with Targeting Drone.
Frankly, though, I don't know what to tell you as far as a build goes; I have nothing good to say about the fire blaster sets.

Yes, that's a definite problem for me now. I have Hasten 4-slotted so far and it's a guaranteed OOE power now. Without fail, when I hit it and open up with both barrels, I'll be suckin' wind before the halfway point of Hasten's duration. I've gone through a full tray of 10 Take a Breathers during a big group fight with Hasten running, and STILL wound up out of end before Hasten dropped.
I'm fairly happy with my output right now, especially since some folks I group with a lot say they can tell when I'm not there. I kinda play Flameshrike like a scrapper (i.e. I'll take a faceplant to keep the defender/controller from taking one). But this is damage we're talking about and thus, there's no such thing as 'too much' of it. :)
I have targeting drone and hadn't planned on getting Aim. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't judging the book by its cover (since, given all the faulty descriptions on powers in CoH, wouldn't make sense to RTFM too much).
Just curious but Sable, what soured you so on fire blasters? If memory serves, Sable Phoenix is a fire blaster, isn't she?

I just started an Energy/Ice Blaster. So far I must say I am liking it. I have Energy Torrent, Energy Bolt, and the name is failing me but it is an ice prison of sorts. The combination of hold and knockback is actually very useful. I hold who I can until they run up on me, then I let loose Energy Torrent and hopefully it hits knocking them away from me and allowing me to hold more peeps. It is a good system.

My advice? Ask Malibu Sally what she is, has and does.
Then avoid that build like a bad case of rabies.
She dies a lot, don't you know? She said so herself. :chuckle:

Get thee gone from this place, thou vile spawn of scrapperism! :P
No.. I don't die a lot. In fact, I probably die far less than the average scrapper.(a total breakdown of teamwork or biting off much more than the team can handle are the main causes of death for me) My beef is that I can't get the chance to contribute to a team because blasters overall are not desired, nor are they really needed on teams as much as other AT's.(after level 38 or so)
Also, because of next to zero defenses combined with low hit points and aggro generating abilities that put Tankers to shame, I have to severely limit what attacks I can use when teaming. In other words, I am not permitted to be an "offensive juggernaut" unless I am soloing.

I need some help on what to do for Techno Shock's respec, I don't have his build in front of me, and don't remember the levels I got everything, but incase you didn't know or remember he's a tech Energy blaster with SJ, and has a respec at level 26. I'll get current powers and stuff posted tommorrow, but I've had it since 24, don't know what to choose, and felt this was a good enough place to ask.

Slowly leveling up Psukhe. I must say Energy/Ice is a great nuild so far. The Ice holds combined with the knockback of Energy means that no one touches me with anything other then long range attacks. Baisically I rule and they suck at life :)

Well, i just started upo an energy devices blaster on Justice "The Puffin" and am looking for some pawer advice. everything i've heard about energy is it's a single target killer, not a group smasher, and i was looking at which powers from that set i should take and/or slotting. I've already got blast, burst, and torrent from that. and of course web grenade and caltrops from devices.
i'm pretty familiar with what i should take from that, targ drone, cloaking device, trip mine, time bomb and auto turret. but i have no clue as to whow slotting should go.
so c'mon sally, tell me how you don't die a lot. Prove Widdy Wrong! :)

Grrr.... I DON'T die a lot. My beef is that I never get the chance to show anyone because blasters are NOT needed on teams post level 40.
Anyway.. here are some tips for En/Dev.
Don't bother with Auto Turret. Takes too long to set up and the damage is not that spectacular. Exception: If you have teleport, you can set up the turret out of the line of fire and teleport it to you if needed.
Don't bother with Taser. I find the animation time way too long for a power only useful in melee range.
Energy Torrent is your cone AoE. Put one cone extension enhancement in it. and the rest damage. That cone extension gives you a much better field of fire.
Nova is overrated. Forget using it when soloing... that is a one way ticket to the hospital. I respecced Nova out of my build because the situations where it comes in handy are few... VERY few. I find that Time Bomb more than compensates as a nuke.(Cloaking device+ Smoke will make you invisible to anything but a boss.... run up and set a time bomb. When it goes, you don't have the end drain and disorientation that Nova leaves you.. thus, Time Bomb is useful when soloing)

I have a lvl 22 fire blaster with devices as my secondary set. I have flares, fire blast, fire ball, rain of fire, and aim on my primary. I have taken just the Targeting drone in devices so far. I also have taken hasten, tp friend, tp, swift, health and stamina. I have 4 slots in my 4 attacks, 6 slots in targeting drone, 3 in stamina, 2 in health and I think thats all my slots. I was planning on taking the cloaking device, and both bombs in the devices set. As far as my primary i was going to get blazing bolt and my finail one (cant remember whats its called. I am wondering if this sounds like a good build so far. I like it when i am on a team and a controller can hold them so i can use my ROF and fire ball. Also how should i slot them out to get the most out of my fire blaster. I know I dont do as much single target dmg as any other blaster build but I want to do as much as I can. Thank you for your guys/gals input.

NOO THAT IS A LIE!!!!!
Scrappers can use both of their sets to be better then one set alone. Blasters are the same.
Using both Melee and Ranged makes you a BLASTER!!!
Not a blapper, forgoing melee for the idea its wrong is silly the say as forgoing ranged for melee on a blaster is silly.
Stay strong my newfound blasterm engage in damage in whatever range the targets are and enjoy.

A true blaster blasts. A true scrapper scraps. A person that does both, is a great damage dealer.

Without hasten an ice blaster has a broken attack chain without using melee moves. I don't think a "true blaster" would break their attack chain for the sake of pseudo-masculine character labelling.
But spine scrappers wtf...they're like blasters but with regen...or invauln...or other funky shit.
