Just feel like posting this. My brother is a marine. He just joined up recently and will be deployed the 16th. I went out to visit with him last week, the primary reason for my absence lately.

Due to circumstances beyond my control, I didn't get as much time with him as I would have liked to. Truthfully, there never is enough time.

He's heading straight for the front (he requested it) and will be in combat pretty constantly for the next 8 months. Hope he makes it.

If his FPS skills translate (and from what I've heard, they do) he should be fine. He did play CoH, and I may reactivate his acct, but he was more of a FPS player. If any of you played BHD you may have met him.

For those who knew him or didn't, think a good thought now and then for him. He could use it.

Well, I know if I were on he other side, he doesn't look like the kind of guy I'd want to have pointing a gun at me. Here's wishing him good luck.

I'll do nothing but think good thoughts for him. :)

I hope he does well out there. Don't worry too much... while it is a dangerous job, one of the charms of being in a unit is that, despite all the hype, you don't have to watch your back 24/7.... you have a whole squad to help.

Should probably get this moved to the Asylum.

I send all the best wishes I can send to your brother. He's a very respectable person in my eyes.

*holds a good thought for Bro of Quake and his family; and also for Bro of Grae Knight*

I have my own feelings about the war; however I have nothing but respect and admiration for the soldiers fighting it.

Many, many blessings,

Well, the time is almost upon us. He leaves tomorrow morning. Boy this sucks WAY worse than I thought it would. It only took one person mentioning it to throw my whole day off.

What kind of guy WOULD you want to have pointing a gun at you, exactly? O_o

I wish your brother all the best.
It was the Marines I tried to enlist into back in 1971. I was to be a CBN but the military physicians at my physical permanently rejected me five minutes from taking the oath.
