View Full Version : PiggViewer?

Curious about something... I'm a long time CoH player, but never really got into any mods or modding, but recently saw a mod linked on the CoH forums where a user replaced the gold/yellow Praetorian character creation screens with purple screens. This has sort of spurred me into wanting to create my own screens (I hate purple) and have sought out the programs to make my own.

Now, according to the tutes I've been able to locate (long outdated) everything is referring to PiggViewer. I've downloaded this, and installed it on my machine, but I get the following error:

Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue.
If you click Quit, the application will close immediately.

Unable to load DLL 'DSS.dll': A dynamic link library (DLL) initialization routine failed. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007045A).

Under the Details pane, it has this:

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

I've looked at SourceForge.net (http://sourceforge.net/projects/pigg-viewer/files/) and it looks like it's been removed. I am wondering if the problems are due to my running Windows 7, and the program being created for XP.

Can anyone offer some assistance here, or point me to a place where I can get some help?

Thanks in advance for any help that is offered.

Here are the basics of my system info:

Sorry, can't help you. You might be right and it's Windows 7. I have XP and my Pigg Viewer runs fine.

However, if you just want to replace the screen backgrounds, look for City of Heroes Splasher.

Thanks for the response, but Splasher won't work either. Leandro posted this a few years back:

So, while the lack of updates probably clued everybody in, I'll make it official: Splasher only works properly on Windows XP, and I don't think I'll be re-coding it for Vista anytime soon. Other tools I use refuse to work under Windows 7 as well, so I'm probably going to go back to XP quite soon.
Guess I'm SoL for it... lol Thanks, though.
