Test Server: Thursday Throwdown, PCC Arena Mash

Tomorrow, Thrusday, at 1.30pm CDT the PCC will hold (hopefully) the long antisciptated Arena Match.

Today, an important patch has been aplied, here are some of the changes:


o Rooted now offers protection from Immobilize.

o Temp Powers purchased in the Arena Store will now only work in the Arena. They will be Grayed out unless you are in a match.

o Awaken Inspirations (and similar self rez Inspirations) will no longer work in the Arena.

o Modified Cloak of Fear. Based on recent improvements to the Fear effect, Cloak of Fear has been modified. Accuracy and duration of fear was reduced so that the power will terrify 50% of nearby foes at any given time. This can be improved with Accuracy Enhancements (more affected), or Fear Enhancements (affected targets will be terrified longer). Duration of fear f/x increases over level.

o Fixed a bug that was causing Intimidate and Invoke Panic to have a greater affect in PvP than they were supposed to.

o Controller Ancillary Powers will now correctly do triple damage when a target is held, stunned, disoriented or immobilized. (PvP only)

o Fixed bug that caused all passive powers (Resist Physical Damage, Stamina, etc.) to be turned off when a player was knocked out and respawned in a match.

o Bastion has received a substantial upgrade to his systems, courtesy of DATA. In honor of his greatly enhanced capabilities, Paragon City's android hero has renamed himself "Citadel."

It also seems that Trainers have more infomations about "Exemplar and Sidekicks", "Task Forces", "How to obtain a cape" and "How to obtain a title". Just ask them :P

Hmmm, finally tried the arena for the first time the other day...needless to say a defender should not take on a scrapper solo :p

I understand most of the changes...except for the one's to Bastion, Story-driven maybe?

Here's some more exerpts:

-Fixed Scrapper/Invincibility so it doesn't permanently taunt players in PVP (Tanker version did not have this problem)

-Fixed bug that could leave a player permanently taunted for the duration of a match.

-Fixed bug that caused all passive powers (Resist Physical Damage, Stamina, etc.) to be turned off when a player was knocked out and respawned in a match.

-Knock back suppresion timer is separate from the combined fear/disorient/hold/immobilize timer.

and some good changes to fear as well... but no time! must fight!

Edit: By the way, the "Team Searching" Window has been enhanced greatly, also the Friends/Global Friends list.
When you now click on "friends" you get the same window, but have a dropdown menu at the top where you can see Friends, Global Friends, Global Ignore and the listeners to your subscribed global chat channels. Very neat addition.

Since I was designated the Pcity screenie shooter....I got quite a few. And I'd just like to say that in the 2nd match when the pcity team stuck together....well we owned just about anything.

I *think* I got everyone but it was me, Frost Phantom, Poison (as Sabbath), Sechmeth, No-Show, Septa, and Yin.

For me the coolest part was that I actually felt like a tank. I'd see a blaster (or defender hehehe Yin) in trouble then jump down in front of them and FROST SMASH! I did get dropped from the 2nd SGvSG match though but it was lots of fun. I'll try to post up the many shots I got after choir rehearsal & karate practice tonight.

It was a lot of fun. I realized just how proud of my build I really am, as I was reaming regen after regen scrapper, while my own health staying intact (being a regen myself). It was definately a lot of fun. It's kinda hard to keep up with everything, it gets to the point where you look for the nearest red name and just start wailing on 'em, or you'll spend too much time trying to keep up. The results window needs to be fixed, I couldn't see my results, but either way, it was great. Suddenly I think I'm hooked on PvP

Doh! I totally forgot about this event! Oh well - I'll have to keep an ear to the ground for the next one (assuming there is one).

As Poison, it was okay. I'd just randomly debuff people and stun them.
As Sabbath, it just plainly sucked. Being lv38 and in a match against lv50s, I stood no chance. I was being one-shotted, even with Elude on. Then we were in this Eden map, which is nice, but dark and confusing, and I had real problems getting around with superspeed and all the lag.
And then this phase shifting scrapper ass starts 1337-bull****ting me over broadcast and thinks it's funny how he (with a little help from his 4-8 friends) was able to clobber me down. Made my day and I logged.

Again, we handled it. Unfortunately, I didn't get to see the little **** say something. Otherwise I would've put'em down.

Yeah, it was really fun. The 2nd Match was cool since we PCity guys tried to stick together. And we owned Cuppa's team.
