A friend of mine introduced me to Wizard 101 the other day, and I have to admit I'm really enjoying it. More than Coh right now actually. So I was wondering if anyone else has heard of it / Is playing?
Its basically Pokemon and Harry Potter Mixed into one. Its clearly designed for 8 year olds in mind, with an annoying filter that blocks even some common words like "two," so don't say I didn't warn you. Its very "cute" and honestly I think that's half the appeal. It also has a simple card combat system where you click on a card from your hand and it summons a monster to cast the spell.
Aside from that its like a lot of MMO with up to four player combat, drops, and six worlds to explore. Personally, I think Grizzleheim will be the most fun. The narration and in game jokes are a real laugh too. There are seven branches of magic (fire, storm, ice, myth, death, life and balance). Currently, I'm playing a level 7 Pyromancer named Evan Dawnseeker if you want to look me up.
The other nice thing is its almost entirely free, so if you have some time check it out. Even if your just bored, at least give the character creator a try to see which branch you belong too.
