Here is a place where you can update everyone on your awsome vacation adventures and make 'em all jealous. :p

My Vacation in Florida:
Vacation was wonderful. AM & I stayed with his parents in Safety Harbor which is between Clearwater (http://www.floridasbeach.com/) and Tampa. The weather was quite nice and we had a great time with all the things we planned to do. The best part was not being woken up every morning by a screaming alarm clock. Man I miss that. *yawn*

We went to the Ren Faire at the MOSI in Tampa (http://www.renaissancefest.com/bay-area.htm) and AM bought me a bodice. Oooh! I gots clevage now!!
Went to a BBQ fest, ate lots-o-pork.
Saw Sin City. It was disturbing and a bit gross but loved it.
Guess it was Horseshoe Crab (#) mating season. Saw huge groups of em getting it on along the shore.
Busch Gardens (http://www.buschgardens.com/buschgardens/fla/default.aspx) was a blast. AM's mom bought that pict they take of you when you go down the flume... it was terrible. The faces we made! :o
Medieval Times (http://www.medievaltimes.com/) was way cool. The show was entertaining and the food was yummy. I hope the picts turn out.
While up in the Orlando area, we visited SciFi City (http://www.sci-fi-city.com/), a really cool comic/gaming type store. We bought an hour of computer time so we could get our CoH fix. :D
Got sandblasted at the Clearwater's South beach (http://www.floridasbeach.com/bch_nat/beachfinder.aspx) on Thurs but that was ok. Collected some shells. I couldn't believe the amount of sand in my hair...in my EARS! just from walking the beach on a blustery day.
*starts planning for next year's vacation*

Well, over last week I went to San Fransisco California, to visit my father who works for Safeway's bread production plant. While there I
-Saw the ocean from this really cool rock outcropping thingy
-Saw the Gate Bridge
-Saw a redwood forest
-Played way too many video games
-Quested for the PSP
-Had my birthday party
-Found out one of my good friends was also on vacation in the area, and we hung out.
-Met my dad's friend Matt, who has fricken awesome stories.

Stuff I forgot/Didn't have time for
- Go back to the Metatron and get a picture with the human sized Zaku or scale gundam head
- Teach my Dad how to play CoH, he already has an account, it's just really frustrating to teach him over the internet.

Not as cool as you thought they were, huh? *walks outside and kicks the giant redwood next to his window* I only live about a hour away from the tallest tree in the world, really need to go there...

The day before my birthday I took a personal day. Closest thing I'm going to get to a "real" vacation in a long time. In essence I spoiled myself rotten:

*I woke up whenever I dang well felt like it and did a full hour of yoga, including some excellent meditation
*Lingered over coffee and read my forums, read the paper, got caught up on 3 months' worth of Gourmet magazine (I'm a little behind on my leisure reading)
*Took the longest shower in the history of mankind and used my favorite dark-chocolate truffle-scented shower gel
*Got a new, crazy flirty haircut which I *love* more than any haircut I've ever had (I'll post pics soon, I promise)
*Got a manicure
*Bought some new clothes with gift certificates from Christmas
*Hung out at my new favorite cafe: locally-owned (no Evil Empire for me), all organic/fair trade coffees (the highest grade possible), a fireplace, and a WiFi connection (I'm moving in next Thursday), and read Hugo's masterpiece Les Miserables--at least the first 30 or so chapters (there are 365 in the whole book)
*Cooked a full-on gourmet dinner (God I miss having the time to do that), and savored it with a lovely wine (poached salmon, wild rice pilaf, asparagus with olive oil and parmesan, and a bright Pinot Noir)
*Did an hour of African dance
*Played CoH
*Went to bed early, well-rested, and happy

<sigh>

It was awesome.

Of course the slacker that I am, have yet to go to the photoshop to have my pictures developed from my Trip to France, but I'll probably be posting some of them (believe me some of these are for "Eyes Only", I have way too many pictures of me and my friends doing some stuff, which can be wrongfully interpreted :D.)

Hey Mina. I myself am going to Clearwater Fla. in a couple of weeks.
I have a safety conference, and am taking 4 extra days to vacation with my wife.

The best part? My company is picking up the tab. :)

Well it's not quite a vacation since I'll be on business, but 5/9/05-5/15/05 I will be in Athens, so that's kind of cool, what a hassle its' been to get my passport though, I tells ya.

I went to San Diego like 6 years ago for work. I never thought I could live anywhere but New England, but after a week there I didn't want to leave. San Diego rocks.

Indeed it does. I live here! Well, close by anyways. About 50 miles north. But, it's still SD. :D

And when we went to Niagara, we stayed on the Canadian side. Much nicer. I highly recomend it over the US side.

I'm meandering around Europe this summer with a few of my friends for just over a month.

Getting a train to and kicking off in Amsterdam (http://www.hotels-holland.com/amsterdam-info/images/adamfoto-bulldog.jpg), which I've been to quite a few times. Many a pleasant night spent in the Bulldog.

Then to Prague (http://photos.slimyhorror.com/Prague/Prague%20048.jpg). Can't argue with 30 pence pints.

To Krakow (http://www.worldcityphotos.org/Poland/POL-Krakow-wsdabrohen1.jpg) next. Auschwitz no doubt being the only sobering moment of the trip.

Then a stop over in Budapest (http://www.bmi2.bmt.tue.nl/image-analysis/People/AVilanova/PersonalFotos/fotos_2000_Tardor/Budapest/budapest_resized_015_nr.jpg).

A little Croatian island called Hvar (http://itb.biologie.hu-berlin.de/~gonze/HVAR/cover/hvar.jpg) and its creepy ass streets (http://www.edu.lahti.fi/~zur/pictures/hvar.png) after that.

More sweet, sweet Croatian coast next in Dubrovnik (http://students.washington.edu/adamsb2/images/dubrovnik.jpeg).

Then we turn around and head up to Vienna (http://sasik.sasprg.cz/~stoupa/wallpaper/evropa/rakousko/Parliament%20Building,%20Vienna,%20Austria.jpg).

And then back to Prague for a day to pick up some cheap, cheap duty free goods to take home, namely booze. And off I fly home, to a no doubt rainy Glasgow.

A rather interesting and somewhat hilarious point is that we have to travel through Bosnia for about 10 minutes to get to southern Croatia. And one of my friends who's in the army has to attend a special military briefing on how to handle yourself if captured in Bosnia before he can go.

Anyway, I hope all the rest of you enjoy yourselves. :chuckle:

I just got back from a 2 week trip to Europe (my first time there). It was a blast.

Flew in to Munich with my sister, and we stayed with my brother, his wife, and their new little boy, Max. They live in the Landsberg area of Bavaria west of Munich.

We spent the first week getting to know Max and taking some day trips, including visiting Munich, Augsberg (Germany) and Salzburg (Austria) - we even saw Hohenwerfen, the castle they used in the move "Where Eagles Dare", which was a couple of tunnels south of Salzburg.

By the way, the Alps are simply stunning to see. I was expecting a gradual approach to the range, traversing many kilometers of foothills before seeing them. Was I wrong. The terrain is virtually flat until, boom, this great wall of snow capped mountains just springs out of the ground. Amazing.

My folks arrived for the second week, and shortly thereafter we departed for the Czech Republic. We spent 3 nights in a great town, Tábor, my sister-in-law's home town, the town where she and my brother were married, and the town, now, where Max was baptized (I am now kmotr, or godfather, to Max).

The saturday before the baptism, we took a day trip to Prague, perhaps the best of all of the day trips we took. The city is gorgeous, and I was afforded the rare opportunity of receiving a detailed tour from someone who knew the city well, someone who actually went to school there. It's a day I won't soon forget.

After that, it was back to Germany, one last meal out, and then the trip home. I had a great time, and I will definately be going back!

Business trip, in Greece. Shots from my hotel room, where I've spent most of my week, puking and sleeping, sadly...oh yeah and playing CoH for a tiny bit in between that. Not looking forward to the 20 hours of meetings to go to in the next two days, but at least the view is nifty.
