Holy good goddamn. It's pretty Ridiculous. I picked up the THQ pack (Which is completely, gloriously insane.)

Good way to Grab Champions if you want it (Sale ends today though.) Personally, I like Champs, sure I don't see myself sticking around longer than the free month, but it's certainly worth picking up for that long at least.

Yeah, that THQ pack is nice. The LucasArts one would be too if I didn't already have most of those.

Those packs at the top are through Monday, 8 Ball, I think the 24 hour part is only for the individual games at the bottom.

Champions was tempting, but I don't need another MMO. I bought Osmos and might get Grid. Dragon Age I can't buy because it's on my Christmas wish list I passed around to the family.. and Batman I'd rather get on a console. Come on Friday.

It's $30 Dollars if you actually venture into gamestop today... which I'd rather not do. Great deal though.

EDIT: Of Course I say that... then I immediately go buy it anyways.

Today CoH Architect Edition is on sale for 9.99. So if you don't have it yet and you're missing one of the first 2 booster packs you can get a month worth of game time and a 9.99 booster pack for the price of the booster pack alone.

Oh, and Borderlands is 33.49, and the original Left 4 Dead Game of the Year is 7.49 (75% off!).

So how does Steam work? You basically download everything, or so I've heard, yes? My assumption is that the CD Keys arrive via Email? Also, does anyone know if you can apply the Archi Ed Twice (once for Magic and again for Tech)?

Month of game time + A Pack for $10 is pretty sweet!

Chances are I'll be getting this for me an my girlfriend very shortly.

:D

To bad I missed the Champio deal though...

:grr:

Steam is basically a storage center for Valve and Steam purchased games while serving as a hub for updates and friend tracking. Plus it has sweet game deals and you get to keep your games forever at the touch of the download button.

When you purchase a game, via steam, you get to download it. Generally, you receive no CD keys at all. Your purchase relies on the Steam client, without out, no game. In the early days, Valve promised that if Steam ever goes out of business, they'd be changing that. Seems unlikely, but there ya go.

Some games still require CD keys, and Steam will give those to you. No manuals, no Cd cases, no physical media at all. Sometimes publishers will give a manual PDF to Steam to go with the game, which you download, but often not.

Today kinda sucks.. games I already have mostly.

My Gamespy ID for Borderlands is TheIcyOne if any of you guys wanna get together.. I'd be up for it. Tired of getting barrage'd by mutant doggies without backup.

Borderlands is on my "iffy" list... it sounds good and everything, but i'm not sure i can see paying out full price... the bad part is when i finally DO get it folks will be all borderlanded out.

Got Spore but Steam needs to fix my code so EA will accept it before I can enjoy any monsters from online.

I bought a very expensive spore collectors edition back in january that's been gathering dust since march when my computer died... Wifey is blaming Spore for the death since the computer was only two months old at the time.

todays sale isn;t that special.. but i did pick up evil genius for 2.50.

Ok, so I have like $20 to spend right now and already own Monkey Island...any of today's offerings worth while?

Also, isn't this the final day? Still kicking myself for not getting KOTOR for $2.50, never finished the first one...or the second for that matter but I'm making $40 off selling that one right now :)

KOTOR 2 was kind of meh....but you really should play through the first one, it's a work of art (especially if you're a Star wars junkie) only RPG I've ever played thorugh twice (Light & Dark)

And not overly impressed with todays offerings from Steam.

KOTOR 2 was a step up in gameplay in some respecs with the added branching and what not, but really could have used more development time to fix some rather powerful exploits. (I remember my Dark Side character found a combination of force powers that would kill ANYTHING IN THE GAME in three turns, and it hit everything in the enemy party at once.

The story in 2 wasn't nearly as good, without even considering that the ending wasn't finished.

I'm playing through the first one again though, to hold me off for Old Republic.
