German soldiers will be allowed to sport mullets and ponytails after a court ruled army hair regulations were unconstitutional.
And you thought the German army was scary under Nazi rule...

Oh my god!!!!!
Don't you see what they're doing? They're going to build an army of MacGuyvers! They'll be invincible!

That's just crazy enough to work.

I didn't think Germany was allowed to have an army because they couldn't behave themselves. Or was that just Japan?

I think you're thinking of the 30s.

The Hasselhoff part in the thread name made me laugh more. The Germans will never get rid of that prejudice.
But yeah, it's true. Exactly one week ago the decision was made that allowing female soldiers to have long hair and male soldiers not was unconstitutional. Stupid, IMO, since the short hair ruling was because of helmets and gasmasks, but hey, that's what you get from equal rights, as well.

One stray hair in those gas masks and you break the seal. Why don't they just make these pansies do the alternative volunteer work instead of put themselves and others in danger?

No idea, most choose to do the volunteer work anyway (you can choose between that or military service).

Here's a question: Why didn't they just make the women cut their hair shorter?

Because they want to look luxurious and the conservative mindset shared by most humans in power is still threatened by a woman with short hair. Bad enough that they're in the military instead of at home making babies!
