That's really a hideous ****ing sculpture. Had the sculptor ever seen a naked woman before? That boob's just sort of stuck on there like a lump of mashed potatoes.

edit: hmm, maybe it's just the light.

And the breast on the sculpture is none too pretty either! :D

If it's ealy nineteenth century, or earlier, it could literally have been made by a man who had never seen a naked women...

Best. Comeback. Evar.

On the other hand, knowing coldcut, he probably lobbed that one over the plate intentionally. :)

Well, I didn't want to kill Sally's buzz, but the original caption was "two boobs."

So where is this sculpture, and what's it supposed to represent?

The statue in question resides at the Department of Justice in Washington. It is accompanied by a male twin, who is also shirtless, but not too exciting for the men folk. The statue(s) were placed at the same time as the building was erected, around the 1930's. It is done in the Art Deco style that was popular at the time (Gotham City and Metropolis show this style off in its archetecture from time to time). Admittedly, I like this style. It is accented by simple, yet stylish lines. Although, one could say her breast seems to have had some plastic surgery on it (Many Nude/Topless Dancers that have had breast augmentation have their breast stick out as unnaturally as this one does; I tend to like the natural look :) ).

Just to note, John Ashcroft (or his office; there is a lot of buck passing) had the statues covered by a curtain because of "lewdness" issues. This curtain was recently removed.

Also of note, some photographers tend to take pictures of certain speakers in such a way (as with Ashcroft here) that they are subtley positioned under the boob, so it's like a joke (the "boob" in front of the boob). This actually may be the REAL reason Ashcroft's office covered up the statue(s) in the first place.
