Hmm, I'm seeing a Phantasy Star Online ad right below the banner. Is this to help pay for the cost of running to boards? Or more bandwidth? Or what?

I said when the boards were new that I'd gladly donate funds to help keep the site ad-free.

I'm suprised an account wasn't bought with unlimited space/bandwith, thats what I have right now.

Nothing in life is unlimited. Hosts offering you unlimited space/bandwidth are scammers, have restrictions set in place (eg unlimited bandwidth as long as you do not go over 0.25 mbps), or a ToS that lets them kick you whenever they want.

Furthermore, unlimited space/bandwidth does not take CPU usage into consideration (which is very limited). In a shared hosting situation (which you have), cohguru.com would not surivive.

Sadly enough, when I saw said ad, I was like "Hey! A new version of Phantasy Star! I may wish to take advantage of this offer!"

No need to get excited over nothing. Ads pay for bandwidth and as long as we have bandwidth we have the forums. No bandwidth = No Forums. Then where would you get your daily dose of Esbatty goodness?

Its unlimited to a certain extent, as long as you aren't uploading music and videos and such, its unlimited.
