To my knowledge this article is not a joke now the response that one of the gents from over at the DAZ forums gave, which follows, is a joke of sorts. (since I can't spell the word I'm actually trying to think of joke of sorts will have to work)

You can just imagine the headlines in the papers can't you?

"Homosexuals hijack our skies with giant symbol after light rain!!! Guardians of Public Morals are outraged!!!"

Late yesterday afternoon, Gabriel Bigot (33, but acts like 93) was taking his two children to the the park to enjoy the sunny weather. A light shower began, and soon afterwards one of the children pointed at the sky and asked, "What's that Daddy?" Gabriel told us, "I looked up at the sky and was disgusted and horrified to see that those wily homosexual activists had managed to somehow get a representation of their symbol in the sky through a clever use of sunlight, rain and refraction. I immediately made my children close their eyes, and escorted them home as quickly as I could."

Only good I can see in that story is that it lets me know that the Brits don't have exclusive rights to complete idiots in the world.

Had to go and relook at the article glad to know it is a satire though with the way things are going who knows how long it will remain a satire.

That's a scarey thought. People are fanatical enough now... sheesh.

that's not even close to funny, why would people make up articles like that!

Color me jaded (just not rainbow-jaded), but the scary thing for me is that some of you didn't automatically assume it was satire. O_o

It doesn't surprise me that I fell for it, I fall and get carried away by things all the time but at least I am open to having my falls corrected. I know to many people who once they fall they will not get up again no matter how much proof you have that the fall was wrong.

I thought it was pretty funny myself. Sometimes, the mark of good satire is when you can't easily separate it from real world events.

I guess that we get that from the fact that there are people out there that think a purple, genderless, fictional creature with a triangle on it's head and carrying a purse on TV is teaching our children to be gay. Sometimes, it's not difficult to believe that there are people that would react like in this article.

The ad to adopt a stem cell should have been a rather large clue...

Yeah, I support gay marriages too, now. I mean, really, why should straight people be the only ones to suffer the indignity of marriage? :D

The thing that is so frightening about this article is that some Christian right-wing group will find the site, not realize it is a joke, and then march on the school, if it exists. Oh, and I totally support gay marriage, protection for all people against bigots, and new brains for anybody who actually quotes the bible as written from a bible with a study guide!

I actually believed it to be true. Kinda relieved it's not, but as Bari Jon said, I wouldn't be surprised if it happened now.
And I'm pro gay marriage, of course. But hey, I'm European anyway.

So, those guys at sports events with the rainbow colored afro wigs, are they part of the secret gay agenda?
What about the ones with multicolored faces? They seem awfully excited, and are usually shirtless, are they gay?

If I see a rainbow, is there a number I can call? To report it?

I just want to do my part as an American. Got my red white and blue crayons right here.

Wait, those are the same colors as the French flag! Curses! We've been sabotaged!

I fully support the rights of gay people to get divorced and sue for alimony.

Whoops! I thought it was real for a while. But I kinda went O_o when they talked about white crayons. Why would you use white crayons anyway?

That word is originally french, too. :P

And yeah, i fell for it as well, definitely something that could really happen.
Curious, how easy it is to get lost in your own faith...

Why would you use white crayons anyway?

Because not all paper is white. White crayon show up really well, for example. on black paper.

And as to the article, I found it hilarious.
