First: Has this site been submitted over as a fansite over at Cityofheroes.com yet?

Second: Seeing as nothing is really free, and I don't want this place to go through any troubles like the original, Who (or where) can one donate funds to keep this place healthy? Someone, somewhere has to be spending some money to operate this site. I'd like to help ease that burden.(please not a PayPal option, though. It seems that they think I am evil and won't let me transact through them) :)

One more question... Since Buggles seems to have returned, can someone cajole him into resurrecting the "Ask BugBite" thread? Please? :)

Good question. I'll also donate if it helps!

I sent Xan a PM and asked if he would put up something about how these forums are paid for, but he never replied.

This site is funded by kzap, who was an ex-admin at ogaming [before it was sold]. This site might have ads in the future, but its mission statement is to live upto its name - a place of gurus. Both informative [site content] and a friendly community. GuildWarsGuru.com and WoWGuru.com are exactly that, and we hope for this site to keep that ideal alive. If ads do come, I am sure a donation system to remove them [not a large number at all] would be added.

Thanks for the information Inde. I wonder if we can get a donation system going now?(or very soon) Not only would it be a way to head off any ads in the distant future, it could be be used as a warchest for such things as more bandwidth(bigger sigs for us sig whores), larger file attachments, and as an emergency fund in case some critical piece of hardware craps out suddenly. I am sure many of the members here would be more than happy to contribute to this site. Please let us help. :)

Well in terms of hardware etc, we are very secure. kzap is a smart little fellow [snicker - little! ;)] and that is covered. Donations systems, tracking, etc is such a huge headache that for now, its not a problem :)
