Anyone else read this? I just picked up the 1st Volume yesterday, entitled "Days Gone Bye".. I had heard about it from a friend, and I love zombie stuff. Mostly for the character interaction and the survival.

It's a great read so far, it's exactly what I was looking for, if your a fan of the zombie genre of horror you should look into it.

You should check out Vol 2 and 3 as well. ;)
It's too bad the new George Romero flick Land of the Dead is not as good.

Robert Kirkman is a great writer and Walking Dead is one of his best (I like Invincible more).

But I have to admit I honestly don't believe Rick and the majority of his current gang is going to survive this whole tale. Especially considering how Rick has been acting lately.

What happened to the first artist? Arguably, the most enjoyable part of that series for me was the way the first guy drew the zombies. I'm really turned off by the new guy.

I'm kind of up and down about the book as a whole. The characters seem just a tad bit cliched to me, and I never feel all that surprised by anything that happens.

Does the art style change heavily when they switch artists? I heard about it from another friend, he just never went into detail about how much it changes.

Everybody I know is giving Adlard ****, but I still think he's a really good artist for Walking Dead. Tony Moore, the former artist, still does the covers for it and he's got a new comic coming out soon with Rick Remener writing and alternating art with Cory Walker, the former artist of Invincible.

I don't think the switch between Tony and Charlie is that big.

The characters are kinda suppose to be cliches from the other zombies films and I've personally been surprised by some of the events. The most forbrooding moment though is definently Rick's kid's reaction to when Hersley punches Rick.

Just read issues 1 to 7 and am really amazed. The story is the usual zombie survival thing, but somehow deeper, more touching. You do have some clichee characters, but they're still not as obnoxious as in movies. And it's rare that a comic is actually thrilling.
Very sad about the change of artists though, the first one was awesome.

Sorry for bumping this old thread, but I didnt want make a new one. Anyways I just picked up (and read) the first three volumes. It has amazing writing. I really like how he introduced the story at the beginning. He pretty much is delivering what every zombie fan wants.

Totally. I love the series by now, read till issue 20. It's all zombie movies ever taken together and packed into one great, tense story. Never campy or stupid with well-written characters.

Does anyone know if it continued after #20? I don't seem to be able to find any issues after that one...

He plans on continuing it forever, so yes. Meanwhile I can't remember what issue we're at now.

Im really liking the twists that its taking. Like Hershals duaghters...I didnt expect that at all. Thing that kinda gets me annoyed is he always ends on a cliffhanger. Oh well, anyone know when the next volume comes out?

November I think. I think #25 is some major revelation though, the entire solicition is: "Nothing will ever be the same" and a cover, by Charlie Adlard, who's taking over cover-duties now, with some people in riot gear and blood splattered all over their shields.

I'm coming around on this one. I recently picked up the book where they're in the prison, and it was excellent.

Finally, I got issue 21! First time I see a blowjob in a "regular" comic... :look: But well, there has been a lot of sex in the comic so far, so no surprise.
And I'm curious to know if the amputation will help.
