I bumped into this article that makes pretty good sense overall.

Five Things the Gaming Industry will never fix about their games (and why) (http://www.cracked.com/article_17442_5-things-gaming-industry-will-never-fix-why.html)

And it's true!

I love Cracked. I do find it kind of Hilarious that they bitch about not having a Game where you can blow up anything the EXACT same day Red Faction Guerrilla comes out. On that note.... Good sweet Jesus RFG is Amazing.

I was chomping at the bit to pick up Red Faction Guerilla yesterday but I was a tad too busy. Looking forward to having something like a GTA engine in space. I like the fact Voliton makes references to "Saint's Row". (Ultor Corporation was the Mega-Corp that initially owned all the mining rights on Mars.)

Yep. Ultor isn't around in Guerrilla but there are still ruins here and there. The game itself is kind of repetitive but the activities are good enough to where I don't really even care. Plus building smashing is glorious and opens up alot of strategies. Turrets covering the front? Drive a truck through the back, take over the turrets and waste the enemy force. Smash through the floor with your sledgehammer and let the rubble kill the foes beneath... And Walkers... just Walkers. Building? What building?

I am simultaneously shocked and un-surprised that both Steven Spielberg and George Lucas are the causes behind some of the “Wtf, this is bull****” suck fests in gaming.
