Saw it, somewhat disappointed they are making a sequel so soon. Somewhat excited that they are trying to improve the series. I lol'd at the overalls tank and I hope they don't completely ditch the cast of the first game.

They started working right away, from what I read, and the graphics look better and we get 5 new campaigns...I'd buy it just for new campaigns

I wouldn't. They've been supporting another game that never cost near as much as L4D, with updates that don't come regularly but do come often. They also make decent-quality FMVs for this game often, too.

L4D was supposed to, by Gabe Newel's own words, follow that same pattern. And what we got for our first free update was two versus maps that should have come with the purchase price (which have all kinds of AI bugs, pathing bugs, line of sight bugs, spawning problems that the first two versus maps never had and they worked on them for 6 extra whole months), no new single player maps at all, and no SDK.

So then the L4D2 game is announced and the trailer is released, and we're gonna be expected to pay $40 more dollars for a sequel to a game that wasn't completed until 6 months after it was released?

No way, jose.

I dunno, I don't have too big of a problem with the bugs, but it would've been nice to see them work on more game modes or new Coop maps or something. The new survival mode was a step in the right direction.

$40? Wow. Mine was $10. Yay waiting! :)

That's totally what I'll be doing with L4D2. No way I'm gonna be paying full price for a minor upgrade to the original.

same...I'll wait for their cash cow to go on 50% off or something before I buy it.

They could have easily just decided to continue updating L4D...But I guess free updates for TF2 is too much for them. Maybe they should have released TF3 instead.

If they release it with another game then I may get it, but I may wait a while. My friend who doesn't have L4D(crazy) will wait for it since it is likely to come with the original's content so I may get it just to play with him.

They should release the other campaigns and such through Steam download at like half price for those of us that already have L4D so they keep fans and can sell the full package.

Well, considering how much they changed with the original L4D right at the last minute, here's to hoping they'll throw in a few last minute surprises with L4D2.

Hell of a cool trailer. You might be interested to see what happens at around 5:20. I know I was VERY shocked and happy.

And I have started to think about the "sequal". It reminds me of the day when anytime you wanted ANY new content you had to buy it. Like if you wanted 4 new maps for GoW you payed $12 or something.

So if Valve is smart or at lease nice, they will import all the maps and things from l4d but give them the upgrades for l4d2. Now THAT would make the $50 worth it for most people. Its kind of like Orange Box. If you wanted the new stuff cheap, you had to rebuy all the old stuff. But they let you give away the re-bough old stuff to a friend.

A lot of outrage about this sequel. Fans are signing petitions to boycott it and ****.

That is just silly. But people will do what they will do. I'll be more worried sometime around October.

nice... where's the frying pan?

There is a video with the frying pan in it. And it looks almost like a combo of head smashing and pushing. I like the combo. If you just get a glancing blow it looks like you knock the guy down, but if you get a good hit, you smash his head in.

Did you watch how the guy was using the axe? He kept just hitting them in then legs and they would die. Hope they correct that. Would love to have to worry about crawlers.

remember TBC, they're diseased with special rabies, not undead. chopping anyones leg off will kill them due to major blood loss and trauma

I guess that is true. They should wiggle around for a little bit at least. =P

Heh, so they went to 3 white people/black guy to 3 black people (2 blacks, 1 mexican?) and one white guy.

Guess they are trying to appeal to the other communities.

Not trying to sound racist or anything

i think it was to avoid the racial issues of having threee white people and the token black guy shooting black people. (since they'll have black zombies/infected

Personally I am quite excited for this, though it better not be $50 or I'll be a late adopter

I feel the same way. Or they had better cut a deal for all those people who already have L4D. Something nice to make us feel better. But then again, they might not. We will just have to wait and see.

Its the 360 owners that are going to be most screwed by this.

I would buy it at $50 just I still can't find a summer job despite my efforts and am merely getting cash for chores so I can buy very few games
