Okay, I've been mulling this question for a while now so I decided to make a thread about it. This may go awesomely or it could be a huge bomb, but here goes:
Think back through your entire life. Perhaps you're a well-travelled commuter, or perhaps you've spent your life confined to a specific area you're comfortable with. What is the furthest you've ever been in all four directions on the globe?
I'll give you mine:
North: Campbell River (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=campbell+river,+bc&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=53.035373,78.75&ie=UTF8&ll=50.028475,-125.249634&spn=0.329065,0.615234&z=11&g=campbell+river,+bc&iwloc=addr), British Columbia, Canada
East: New Orleans (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=new+orleans&sll=50.028475,-125.249634&sspn=0.329065,0.615234&g=campbell+river,+bc&ie=UTF8&ll=29.93292,-90.041885&spn=0.221955,0.307617&z=12), Louisiana
South: Somewhere along the eastern side of the Baja Peninsula (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=baja+peninsula,+mexico&sll=28.709861,-113.862305&sspn=7.184937,9.84375&ie=UTF8&z=7), along the Gulf of California. I'm not sure how far south we got, I think it may have been about half way to the end.
West: The island of Kauai (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=kauai&sll=22.222042,-159.56794&sspn=0.007648,0.009613&ie=UTF8&ll=21.965972,-159.573669&spn=1.961262,2.460938&z=9&g=kauai), Hawaii. Specifically, Haena State Park, which is about as far west as you can go on the northern shore of the island.

Heh, personally, I don't think a question that is based on the assumption that America is the center of the world is going to go over very well, but that's just me. :P

I would say it is actually based off the prime meridian and international dateline. You know, the marks of east and west. However, it's not like America is the only country to claim status as the center of the world. I mean, in Chinese China is called Zhongguo. This literally translates to Middle Kingdom and was based off the idea that China is the center of the world.
Anyway...
Furthest North: umm probably Inverness, Scotland
Furthest East: Atsugi, Japan
Furthest South: Ft. Lauderdale, Florida
Furthest West: Seattle, Washington

Uh, the question isn't based on this assumption. It should be quite obvious that folks from around the planet will have their own responses that may or may not have anything to do with the US. The fact that my own example seemed centered on North America doesn't take away from the possibility that someone from Europe may have responses that center around Europe, or that people from Australia may have responses that center around Australia, or that people from any other part of the globe... well, you get the idea. I hope.
Thanks for contributing, BTW.

Problem is, I'm not exactly sure. I've been in a couple states that could go either way, depending on where exactly I was.

This is kind of embarassing, but it has just now occurred to me that, latitudenally speaking, Hawaii is further south than the Baja Peninsula. So I'm going to have to amend my response and say that Waikiki Beach is actually the furthest south I've ever been.

Although some of you may know my location if you have been paying attention, I am going to go "vague" here and say, "the center of the United States" as my origin point. :P
North : Not too exciting. My first guess was Collinsville, Illinois, home of the world's largest Ketchup bottle, but Portland, Oregon seems to be it. One day, i'll push through to Canada!
East : I am gonna "cheat" a bit and for this answer, say Richmond, Virginia. I say this because actually I think I've been more Easterly in my Southern answer...
South : Hard to say, really, since I've traveled a bit all over here, but Buenos Aires, Argentina is the close answer. I've been to Mar Del Plata and probably a bit more South than that a few times.
West : Taipei, Taiwan. A few times. Still striving for Japan one day.

I would assume Furthest you've been "from home?" However, as a military brat I have no defined home so cannot participate without a form of reference. But to be in the spirit of things...
Farthest East: Berlin, Germany or maybe a part of Italy.
Farthest West: LA, CA or Washington State.
For Europe I think Cadiz Espania.
Farthest North: Berlin then Amsterdam then London.
Novia Scotia is much farther South than I thought!
For North America looks to be Quebec.
Farthest South: Miami, FL then Houston TX and Tijuana, Mexico.
I wonder if that puts home as my center point in the Atlantic...

North: Frieburg, Germany
South: Orlando, Florida, United States
West: Los Angeles, California, United States
East: Osaka, Japan
EDIT: Upon further inspection of a map, Freiburg, Germany, is a bit north of London, Ontario, so it is actually the furthest North I've been. Europe, in general, is much farther north than one would think.
