This is an actual email a teacher sent to a friend of a friend's biology class.
Class,
I hope you have at least looked at what is required for this week's lab. You are required to bring in a fecal sample (poop) in order to test for the presence of enteric bacteria. You can either bring in your own poop sample (even though I know girls don't poop) or bring in any animals poop (preferably cat or dog, or larger animal). If anyone can find squirrel poop that would be awesome, so I would consider that as well. You can store the poop sample in aluminum foil and then leave it in the fridge until lab. (Be sure your roommates do not mistake it for your mother's homemade brownies). You do not need a large sample, since we will only use about a large pea size amount to put into a sterile saline tube and mix.
In case anyone has trouble acquiring their poop sample, I will be bringing in some cat poop from my cats at home, Sugar and Spice. See you all Thursday!!
