So, those of you that have Spore, what are your screen names?

What do you think about the game so far?? I am considering picking it up but have yet to read any early reviews.

It's very fun, except for socializing in the 3rd stage, haven't quite gotten the hang of that yet, I tend to just burn their huts down instead, alot easier than impressing them with maracas. the coolest thing though was when somebody's UFO buzzed me. You still get alot of Maxis created creatures right now, but I am seeing plenty of user generated content.

However I did not enjoy the game as much as I once hoped I would.. and I liked the Tribal stage the best, odd I know. It's fun, but.. it felt like their wasn't enough going on in any of the stages. I'm giving no big verdict yet, not until I play another round as a pissed off carnivore. I was a pansy socialist the first time.

Carnivore's are more fun. I get to kill everyone, of course I only did that because I couldn't get the hang of befriending people. My favorite stage was the Animal stage (the second one). I was a bit bummed that I didn't get to customize my creature anymore after that. Oh and i think mine is FireWyrm.

From the reviews I've read, it's very short, and unfulfilling. There's virtually no challenge at all and if you put any shred of effort into it, you win.

I'm going to pirate it because a game so short shouldn't cost so much, and because of this stupid DRM issue. I learned my lesson from Bioshock.

Anyway, I'm holding off evolving to the tribe stage because I want to finish genociding the other species in my area. Thus far the Gigaraptor race is slashing and chewing its way through everything.

Depending on how much time is left for me in the game... I feel justified.

I just picked this up, and so far it's every bit as much fun as I hoped it would be. :)

So far, the furthest I've gone is the Tribal stage, but I have another game in the creature stage that is filled with creatures from Melt and Shep. Pretty funny. :)

I got to Space before it got to be too much micromanagement. I have no plans to reinstall it anytime soon either.

*shrug* Until space it was tons of fun though.

I'm into the space phase, and am totally digging it. It's everything I always wanted from a Space sim. :)

I've been distracted by other games. Space stage annoyed me with all the forced micromanaging (Oh no! Pirates are attacking this planet! God forbid we do anything ourselves to get rid of them!), so I haven't gotten around to beating it yet.

I mostly ignore it when it's just pirates, they leave eventually on their own, especially if you outfit your colonies with turrets. Otherwise, they just steal some spice and leave. It's when it's hostile aliens that attack you gotta worry, because you can lose colonies.
