My computer at home has been acting up all week. My internet goes out every 15 minutes or so and it either locks up or looks like it has a virus. (it doesn't i checked)

I have to give comcast a call when i get off from work today..I might or might not be able to make tonights meeting. That doesn't mean you guys can't have a meeting without me...

Eitherway I'll let you guys know well before time for it.

That sucks. Hurry up and get it fixed! The President should have his own technology department who can take care of stuff like that.

Well, I suppose we can do fine without ya. =\

I've had the damn grid go down with them for like a week. If I had a better deal I'd take it.

Times I wish I could just sit down and fix your box. If it hangs in come meeting time, I'll get it fixed up for you when I'm down there.

It continuosly restarts itself and I could barely stay in game long enough to find Armour of God and invite him to the SG. Everytime I zoned or teleported I'll be booted or the computer would shutdown.

Have you defragged recently?

I had a simular problem with my old computer and it was a directX problem.

Defragging mitigated it but I was never able to solve it completely.

I've just recently restored my entire pc to the factory settings (last month) cause of a spyware/virus that i could not get rid of ...

With the help of Iamlink yesterday (I connected my old pc to the net to get some much needed updates for my system I play COH on) I was able to get the internet back up and running on this machine.

However the not so good news...the error message is still there...and I have to reinstall a bunch of stuff again..and add my sprites and pictures once again..(a friend of mine made me accidently delete my old user info.)

So hopefully I can get COH reinstalled after work today...and be back in the fold.

I'm not holding my breath..still need to get some type of secruity so this doesn't happen again..doesn't look like it was a virus after all...just something else...

Spyware?

Spyware?

I have two separate microsoft agents..and they didn't detect a lick of spyware....

I'm going to download hijackthis and spydoctor once again..

The problem with me getting online again..def. revolved around the microsoft update my system needed...a file was created that was a looping effect...causing my system to crash.

Do you have any sort of security software at all? (Norton, McAffee, etc.)

Had Norton before...(before my big system wipe in may)...going to go put it back on today. I would like to get my hands on McAffee though...

Either one's fine, really. As long as you keep them current. (Although you may want to look into getting one of the fancier versions. (That have anti-spam and internet security (firewall, spyware protection, etc.) built in.)

Oh, what exactly does the error message say?

It's one of those send error reports to microsoft error messages...

yea tell us what is says anyway. I have some knowledge
Also Ad-Aware is the best spyware program
As far as Anti-Virus I use AntiVir Personal Edition (it's Free! Free!) and it works great (hundreds of porn sites and NO Viruses so far :) )
