Alright..So I'm looking to be the Prez for Halloween...

Alright, most of you have requested that I dress up as the Prez for this meetup at my house next month. So your wish has been granted...I've been looking to buy a cane/sword and I already pretty much look the part anyway...

what I want to know is who looks like their character and or think I really do look like the Prez? Just a little have fun thread to hear me talk about what steps I'm putting into motion to look the part.

And I think you could look like the Prez if you shaved off your hair and put in some red contacts, which are probably expensive/uncomfortable.

Yea Gaia was helping me to shop for contacts that are for special things like this..(not too comfortable with messing with my eyes..)

And I'll either have a beard or a goatee..and I"ll cut my hair real low. :)

Those sword-canes are awesome. Cheap too. I might have to get one myself...

Gotta be careful, some of that BudK stuff is decent enough quality, but other things are just bleh. Those sword canes should be pretty good though, its not like you're gonna use that for anything serious.

If you're looking for a cheap, good quality sword from BudK, go for anything that says Full-tang, meaning the blade extends all the way through the handle, so its balanced. You kinda have to question a $13 sword (http://budk.com/product.asp?pn=BK452R) :chuckle:

I've personaly held this (http://budk.com/product.asp?pn=BK277) sword, it feels very solid, heavy and balanced. I'm no kind of sword conosuier, but I'd trust it.

I could spend thousands of dollars on metal technical armor or make it out of plastic, either way it'd be hard and expensive.

I thought about going as Bagman before. I'm the right height. I actually probably have a larger build than Bagman, who is thin, but I could hide it in a suit.

I could take super soaker and pass it off as the rifle, just need a brown suit, brown fedora and the hardest thing would be the white on black mask.

I was able to research some contacts yesterday..and I'm thinking I shouldn't get them all...

Apparently the kind I need are the hard kind..and might make my eyes irratiable(sp?)

Technically any contacts could irritate your eyes. Colored ones are more prone to it and hard colored are the worst. That being said, unless your eyes are particularly sensitive or dry out easily you should be okay so long as you don't leave them in too long. Definitely get an eye exam first. The doc can tell you if they are likely to bother you.

The problem is if you've never worn contacts, it's a really aggravating when you first try to put them on and then getting used to them.

I've been wearing contacts for 5 years now, and mine are soft disposable, so I can just put them right in first try with no problems.

But I've seen first users of contacts really struggle with putting them on. It's gonna be wierd at first trying to stick something in your eye. At least it was with me.

Not to discourage ya or anything, just thought you should know it can be difficult for some people. If you are really dedicated though, then I'm sure you can do it.
