Anybody else hear about this? The Defenders done by the team that did Formerly Known as the Justice League. It sounds interesting, and I think I'm going to pick it up next month.

Sweet! Giffen's Justice League was my favorite incarnation of that series. Never was a huge fan of any of these characters, but I'll probably pick this up because it's Giffen.

Well, I might pick it up myself if Giffen is at the helm. The Defenders was, to me, always a "way out" team that never really fit anywhere.

Actually, I am torn a little at Giffen's run on JLA. I love it and I grumble a bit about it. But, I think I mostly like it. :)

BTW, why does it seem Marvel seemed to "coincidentally" name most of their Superhero groups the same name as some British Spy TV shows of the same era??

Ok, so the first issue is out now. I read it, and personally, it's one of the best comics I've read in awhile.

I don't know if you could say they're trying to make a parody version of the Defenders, considering what Kurt Busiek and Eric Larsen did with their version.

Yeah, I have to say, if "The Defenders of Paragon" didn't get censored before, they're probably not going to. The Defenders (the comic book) has existed since the 70's.

Actully Giffen got his first major job on the Defenders. His style back then looked like a Jack Kirby rip.

Got Issue 2 today. Not quite as good as issue 1, but still worth a look-see.

I laughed very hard while reading both issues. The writing is nice, but I totally love the art. Namor's facial expressions are hilarious. And I love the Silver Surfer amongst surfer dudes. :lol:

Issue 3 is out and HELL, did I laugh hard when Umar seduces the Hulk!
"Hulk... exhausted!" - "Umar... just getting started!" :chuckle:
Not to mention Banners attempts to become the Hulk again.

I love this series.
