Wow Blizzard's really going "LOOK AT ME LOOK AT ME!" this year, Starcraft 2, the new WoW expansion, and now Diablo 3, perhaps getting them in the Activision helped finance a couple of these for release sooner rather than later.

It's funny, Diablo actually sucked sucked the least time out of my life, compared to the the other Blizzard franchises, but I'm looking forward to this more than Starcraft 2. And I was a HUGE Starcraft fan. Go figure... It does look pretty freaking sweet though!

I just realized something.

There isn't really any more potential for another Warcraft RTS because World of Warcraft botched up the storyline, Starcraft and Diablo are both (finally) getting (highly derivative) sequels, but Blizzard still has an as-of-yet unannounced major, next-generation MMORPG project in the works that isn't "another World of Warcraft."

There was a lot of speculation that Diablo was actually the game getting the MMO treatment, but that is now officially false. Could it be that Blizzard IS finally creating a new, original setting / franchise? :eyebrow:

This could get interesting... When is the next high-profile shindig? They seem to like announcing new games at these things.

I doubt it...all the real creative talent left Blizzard a long time ago, my money's on a Starcraft MMO still :p.

I am soooo looking forward to this. I'm not gonna lie, and I'm probably going to take the Crown of Ultimate Gamer Heresy from Kinghtward for it, but I did not enjoy the original StarCraft, so I can't say I'm excited about it, and I'm still looking forward to Warhammer Online and Champions Online a bit more, but this falls squarely and solidly into third place on my "OMG I MUST HAVE IT" list.

I gotta say, my disinterest is largely in what 8-Ball said, all the creative people are gone. So all their games are rehashes of themselves, only with less interesting stories and increasingly cartoonish (though admittedly pretty) graphics.

I actually thought I was done with Blizzard.

I don't play WoW.

I played Warcraft 1-3, but 3 was mostly because I had nothing better to do and just for the cinematics.

I played lots of Starcraft, but not at all interested in Starcraft 2. Give me DoW 2 instead.

I played lots of Diablo/Diablo2 but figured Diablos time was over and if there came a new Diablo game it'd go the way of Warcraft and get too cartoony and strip even more of the dark atmosphere away.

But that 18 min clip really made me rethink this. It actually got me sorta pumped. Me and a pal are allways trying to meet up online in games but keep being unable to actually do anything together because we're different levels. This could probably work out better for that.
And the details of the dungeons and the collapsing wall was damn sweet.

Starcraft2 doesn't interest me one bit, I'm not into RTS.
I'll probably get D3 (if my machine can handle it), but to be honest, I always stopped playing Diablo after making it through the main story. Same reason I don't enjoy WoW (and many other games), I'm just not into braindead grinding and monster-clicking.

Doesn't change the fact though that I'm sure Blizzard will make one hell of a product. Great company.

I never played anything but the original 2 Warcrafts. I got in a fourth of the way in wc3.

Diablo doesn't appeal to me, because I don't like RPG's.

Starcraft is in the same boat.

I liked the first Diablo better than the second, which I didn't much care for... so I expect a third Diablo will be even less appealing to me.

Warcraft was fun, but Warcraft 2 was my favorite. The third didn't do a thing for me. And, for me, World of Warcraft was the antithesis of fun.

Starcraft... I never touched.

Starcraft and Diablo are great and classic games. I'm excited about both coming out and with friends Diablo is awesome. I can't wait to team up with people and go through some dungeons again.

I never played the first Diablo, but I heard good things about it.

D2 was one of the first RPG games I played. There used to be a LAN center/Table Top RPG place near my house and they had it when it was new. I avoided it at first, but they invited me to play it.

Once they told me it was pretty much Gaulent with some RPG elements, I was interested. Then when I found out one of the characters could raise the dead and have an army run around fighting with him, I knew I had to try it.

While the Witchdoctor looks neat, I hope he's got more pets then the zombie wall and the little guys you can infect.

I'm def gonna pick this up, but I'm nervous about the fact that a lot of Blizzard's story people have left. Regardless, I loved both Diablo games and I have faith in them.
I always played as the Barbarian or the Druid and since the Barbarian is confirmed to be in the game, I'm pretty happy.

Meh. They did this between the first and second game, so this doesnt' bug me. I was a fan of hte Rogue, and was bummed at first that they replaced her with the Amazon, until I realized the Amazon rocked.

It's a new game, I would hope they put in new stuff.
