Supergroup Name: the World Defense Initiative (WDI)
Website (if any): World Defense Initiative (http://www.freewebs.com/worlddefenseinitiative/)
Leader or Recruiting Officers: Captain Spain
Preferred Method of contact: Our preferred method of contact is simply by going to our forums and applying at the Applications Forum (http://com5.runboard.com/bworlddefenseinitiative.fapplications), or if you just want to hang out with us, going to the Visitor‘s Center. Other than that however, meeting up with us in-game works as well as e-mailing us at tjowas@yahoo.com. However do not send a pm on this forum since we rarely if ever use this one (COH).
Guild Description: The official story on us is: The WDI was founded as the UN's response to the ever growing terror threat and the increase in inhumane metahuman activity. The WDI answers formostly to the UN and secondarily to the countries it represents. Every member of its troupe is from a different country, and that memeber is the country's chosen representitive. He or she exemplifies the behavior of that country and of the UN, but his or her actions are not completley reflective of the country's nor the UN's methods. The Headquarters for the WDI is in an undisclosed location in Antartica where it meets and disscusses world events as well as plans missions and raids. It is the official UN Metahuman Peacekeeping Corps.

But, we’re basically just a fun group of mainly alts, but mains as well, who meet up every now and then to have fun, RP, game and kick some super villain butt. We’re not overly serious and we have a real family atmosphere.
------------------------------------------
also my in-game globalhandle is @Zachorian if you want to meet up in-game. if you have any questions of comments, please just ask us. thank you.

I won't be able to join, due to limited play time and all, but I do love the group concept. A suggestion, though: There's already a UN backed SG that accomplishes what you're proposing: The Vanguard. (Their core memebers, the Elite, are 5 heroes, one from each country that sits on the decurity council). I'm not saying that you should change the concept or anything, but having them affiliated with the Vanguard in someway might make it sound a bit more legit.

hmph, thanks for the heads up, does this Vanguard have a website? or the Elite, do they? any info. like that is always helpful. thanks.

EDIT: i have done some research and i believe that the Vanguard and the Elite are either inactive or not the same concept (in reverse order). so i belive that this team is still unique and one of a kind (to my knowledge anyway).

There is also PAYROLL (http://www.cohpayroll.com/index.htm) that does work for the UN and the US government but they are more Black-Ops.

The Vanguard isn't a player formed SG, dude... it's one of the ones that's written into the game's plot, like the Freedom Phalanx, or Hero Corps. You don't see as much of them, to be sure, but you can see the billboard ads around town. the "They are still amongst us!" ones.

Man, this would have been great 6 months ago with Captain Mexico. He eventually got moved to the test server at level 20. Still the best costume ever. Oh well, good luck.
