It just happened on my main computer. :(I had just removed two Trojans and then it crapped out on me. I'm running some tests on it right now to make sure my hardrives are okay. Does anyone know the best solution to fix this? I just need it to let me in one more time so I can transfer all of the important stuff over to my external hardrive. Do you think it's possible to do that in Safe Mode? F5 is the key to get to the selection screen for that option, right? Ugh. :( My baby. I'm going to lose so much stuff if I can't transfer it.

Usually when a virus borks your OS it's the point of no return.

Best method is to remove the HDD entirely, plug it into an enclosure and make it a USB HDD, then do your data backups carefully (avoiding EXE's basically) to the surrogate machine.

Blank the HDD, reinstall Windows on the machine, and migrate the data back.

Porn, it's a ************. Oh, and AIM too. AIM viruses are candy. Stop clicking links all together from now on. :P :D :chuckle:

And download a trial of NOD32 at www.eset.com  (That link is okay to click)

I have no clue on how to do all of that. I'm running an entire system scan on the computer right now while removing all of the torrents and downloaded programs. This didn't happen until last night, and last night I was on a downloading frenzy. I don't keep porn on the computer, and yes, AIM is a whore. :D I noticed last night when I kept getting random pop-ups, and when my Automatic Updates was automatically turned off and I couldn't get them switched back on (even went through the registry and failed).
