I know, I shouldn't comment, but..."Really"!

Red Ring of Death...again!

I've only had ONE system "crap" out like that on me during ALL my years of ownership of almost ALL systems and that has been the XBox360 !

What galls me is people "accept" this and explain it away. If it were Sony, people would be bringing out pitchforks and wanting to burn down Sony. But not Microsoft. Even with a new extended warranty, that would not save Sony, but people warm up to Microsoft.

Bah! "BAH!" I say! :P

Anyway, mini-rant ends. Carry on! :)

Well, as far as that goes, i got a 360 within two months of launch and after years of use its still going strong without any issues. (until i blew it up by plugging it into a 220 outlet on accident, but thats fixed and its again working fine).

My PS3 is still pretty new so I havent had any issues, so far i love the interface, everythign else really dosent seem much different than my xbox. I'll still continue to get all my dual platform games on the 360 since i like Xbox live and personally i know about 10X more people who own an xbox than a PS3.

True, True. And very understandable. :)

Heck, if people ask me for an opinion "on the street" (or I overhear a parent asking a confused store worker) I take their info into account on what they want and need. Many times, I do push folks to a 360, even with this failure rate, it still is a nice gaming machine. It does fill a need for certain folks who want 'lots' of games and want 'lots' of players. :)

But, sheesh! At least the Sony hate is slowly dying down. And admittedly, it does have ALOT to catchup on in the games department. Already, even given the hate, Sony has good numbers and tech on their side. It's what it always has been: about the games. Sony needs more exclusives. I am pretty wowed by "Home". This is really what an online interface SHOULD be! (I remember back in the "Atari 800" days, there was a "similar" online game network that is long gone and not well remembered; even I don't remember the name. It was very neat. In the age of type text commands on BBSes and GENIE and SOURCE, it had a graphic interface where you picked your robot 2-D sprite and controlled it over an 8-bit map to your destination of forums, the standard "Galactic game of conquest" (although this one was graphical, too!) and more. Very much like Sony's Home looks like and something needed for a "casual launch center".)

There are many who "poo-poo" Home, but knowing my past experience, I think this kind of "casual hang out" will bowl more people over, even the complainers. Heck, I see lots of gals liking this. And this could go several ways; like the Wii, using your Avatar for games, I could see Sony doing the same.

The thing is, many are not looking at Sony, assuming whatever bias they have. I've always known such things change over time. But I also know this puts Sony in a position to take the opposition off-guard and surprise them with things. The question is, will Sony make more use of this advantage?
