Somehow, this hardly surprises me.

They didn't convict O.J., either. Fingerprints all over, the glove fit (and he was faking, damn it), probable cause with a previous history of domestic violence...and yet it wasn't him.

I suddenly feel the urge to play my MP3 of Brad Paisley's "Celebrity" again.... :grr:

I can't say i'm too surprised either. Celebrities never get more than a slap on the wrist, add in the fact the the kid's story was changing slightly, and you have the recipe for Acquital.

So even when you're a bankrupt has-been celebrity, you still fall under the immunity clause?

Well the cops that beat the hell out of Rodney King where not guilty...even thought they where on camera...

all u need is reasonable doubt.

OJ Simpson trial had it because of Mark Foreman and his mishandling of evidence, which paints a picture of a set up.

Michael Jackson, i can't really say for sure with out a reasonable doubt that he was guilty, for a guy who doesn't hide the fact that he shares a bed with a child, one can look at it a say that nothing's going on (or he wouldn't be so open about it)

so maybe the jury felt that people where making up stories taking advantage of a fact (that he shares his bed) and turning it into scam to get him in jail or his money. I don't know the case well enough...what i do remember though is the smirk on the police and DA during that press conference when they arrested MJ...so i wonder.

Really, how could you be so sure? Did you witness these events yourself?

I personally can't say he did or he didn't because i don't have all the facts, i put my faith with the jury...all 12 of them have to vote not guilty on all counts.

I really don't know if he did it or not. I mean he's a freak, but he's not THAT much of a freak.

Didn't help that the kid and his mother were proven liars either.

We were all gathered around the TV in my Chinese class when it happened. As an upside, I now know how to say "How the heck?" in Chinese. Well, I knew before, but it got repeated alot.
I can beleive he beat the molestation sharges, but I was sure they'd nail him on the intoxicating substance charge

I did enjoy the woman releasing doves outside though. And of course the sign reading "TRUST JESUS. REPENT." They already have a fine selection of music in heaven, as if they need any Michael Jackson.

The money factor is possibly true. Many witnesses were prejudiced against Jackson, but then they would come up to testify and surprise the prosecutors, and everyone, by suddenly having a change of heart. There were too many questionable and confusing testimonies for a sure-fire account of guilty all around.

Then just pile on all of the other celebrities who testified on Jackson's behalf, and you get the jurrors in an emotional mess of being influenced by people they are fans of. The Jurrors may not have felt that Jackson was guilty or innocent to begin with, but once the celebrities came and testified for him their own opinions would have been quickly swayed.
