That's right, they are back. Due to the lack of base skins to use, I will put you on a plane of my choosing. The only exception will be Widdy and that is because I already have some templates of her plane choice available.
Also, I can only handle one request at a time, so please, if I am in the middle of a work in progress, don't make a request. I'll forget about it. Make your request when the previous work is finished... first come, first serve.
Now.. on to the backlog. Maz has been waiting since before airplanes were even invented for his, so here you go Maz: One brand new MiG 3ud with flames painted on the sides along with your werewolf avatar.

Up next: Widowed will be getting a Bf109 AND a custom pilot skin. :banana

I may as well get in line for this, Major 0bvious should probably get something to fly himself around in anyway.

I'd like to remind everyone that it is first come, first serve AFTER the current work in progress has been posted. :)
On to the unveiling:
First up, West-central Russia circa July,1941. Here we see Oberst Widdy of the Luftwaffe in her Bf109 F2 as she mercilessly guns down some poor, illiterate farmhand who was drafted into the VVS(Soviet Air Force) and put in the cockpit of a substandard aircraft.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v477/MalibuSally/Warbirds/widdy109.jpg
Next we have a closeup. Note the grim determination as she sends the Stalinist scum to a fiery doom! Bwahahaha!

Ok. the shop is open! First one in with a request gets my undivided attention! :D

Ok, you're in. I'll need some screenshots of your character and his/her name.(preferably in a flying or crouching position because standing figures are REALLY hard to place properly on a fuselage without shrinking them to the point of no detail)

Okay, here's (http://photobucket.com/albums/v629/BlanchPrez/CoH/?start=20) some. There's more in my Crey file (found in my sig). I think the action picture in my cret file is the closest I have to a crouch. If that wont work, let me know.

It's just like I always say: Don't bring a knife to a gunfight. ;)
I like what you did with the hat and the green tailband, by the way. And I take it the black skin is your own creation? Very good.
Next we have a closeup. Note the grim determination as she sends the Stalinist scum to a fiery doom! Bwahahaha!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v477/MalibuSally/Warbirds/widdypilot.jpg
Hey, the Russkie had it coming.
You did very, very well on these, Sally. That skin editor really lets you do some impressive work with these aircraft, doesn't it? :)
Malibu Sally
04-13-2005, 07:52 PM
I'm actually not very happy with it. Almost all the skins are 1024x1024 pixels. Those are easy to work with. For some bizarre reason, most of the russian skins and the ONE German skin I selected for your plane are 512x512. This means I had to really shrink the hat and the text in order to fit them on the plane correctly. If the skin was regular sized, the text would be MUCH clearer. I had the same problem with Maz's plane.
Tomorrow I'll whip up a mustang with a similar paint scheme and and lettering and you will see a huge difference.
Once I take care of Masked revenger's request, I'll redo yours... if I can find full sized 109 with a decent beginning paint job, that is.

Wids,
I don't actually make the camo patterns. That is beyond me. I just alter the shading. Here is what the skin I used looks like unaltered:

A lot of requirements there. Lessee... big enough to fly in: check. Enough firepower to level an entire country: hmm... You will have to settle for enough firepower to level a city instead of an entire country.
What kind of plane fits all those needs? And how to color it in honor of a guy who wears multiple shades of grey? Here is you customized Boeing B-29. Try to keep the carnage to a minimum :P

I was looking at your crey file and see you have flight. Take a pic of yourself from the side, flying. I can use that much easier than any standing figure.

Once I get into game again, I'll do it.
Wow, I'm getting a shopping list of things to do:
1. Make costume
2. Take screenshots of everything and more, action shots for Crey reports, etc. Flying shot for this
3. Fight crime, kick ass, take names.
4. Chew gum.

Thanks. But I don't really do anything other than some fancy 'copy-n-paste' action. The mechanics of another game do all the real work for me. ;)
Thanks to a link at D'arkaine's website, I've gotten a pretty good camo generator. Depending on the layout of the base skin, it makes things much easier for making camo schemes. :)

Unfortunately the 'myheroes.php' form is dynamic depending on your login. So whenever anyone who isn't you clicks your "Crey Profiles" link they're taken to their own "My Heroes" page. I think there's a way to link directly to your list, but I can't remember it at the moment.

Not sure why you want your engines on fire. That is usually a sign that things have gone horribly wrong and are about to get even worse. ;)
Flame paint schemes are a no go for now. I just can't do flames worth crap. There is a flame scheme for one of the Russian fighters(the plane I did for Akamaz) but Russian plane skins are really hard to work with. For some reason, the skins are half the size of the others... this makes adding images and text difficult and the results look odd because so much detail is lost.(enough detail is lost with regular sized skins... russian skins are that much worse)
Got your image no problem. Putting it on the plane has made it a little blurry. Tried sharpening but that just made it look funny.
Here you go... burning engine and all. The battle damage is, unfortunately, the reason for the burning engine.:)

Currently I can do B-25's, B-29's and B-17's. I have not tried to do any of the German bombers, though I'm thinking of making a Stuka for Wids.(she seems more like a Stuka person than a Messerschmitt person) :p
/edit: I can also do A-20's(though I have never tried one so I have no idea how hard it may be).
