Holy ****.
The man was a hero to me.
Somehow it never occured to me that he could die one day.
R.I.P. indeed...

If you haven't read arthur's "The Light of Other Days", do yourself a favor and give it a read.
BTW, for those who don't read but liked the 2001 and 2010 movies, Arthur also wrote the follow-up 2064 (not his best work) and 3001 the Final Oddessy (which I highly recommend!).
He will be missed.

Ninety is pretty good.
He seemed to have a full robust life, too.

Wow. I mean, just wow. The man was a giant in the science fiction community. I've read tons of his work and he was one of the first authors I read when I discovered sci-fi.
Rest in Peace Mr. Clarke and thank you for a lifetime of sparking my dreams and fantasies.

Last video of him, from December 07, about his birthday. Pretty uncanny.
