3000 B.C. - The Egyptian Pantheon, including Mahaf, is created by a civilization of people living along the Nile River.

May 23, 2002 - The Rikti begin their invasion on Earth. At that time, it is decided by the leader of the Egyptian Pantheon, Amun-Ra, that for the time being Earth needed no help. Around this time, a love also starts to bloom between Amun-Ra's daughter, Bast (the goddess of secrets, music, dance) and Mahaf, the ferryman of the Underworld, and a herald to call of the Pharoah coming into the presence of Ra. Ra notices this relationship, and his hatred for Mahaf begins to grow.

September 13, 2002 - Mahaf and Bast's love is in full bloom, and Amun-Ra is filled with hatred for Mahaf. He decides to banish Mahaf to Earth, under the ploy that he should be sent to guard Earth from the Rikti. Ra decrees that Mahaf will be a savior of the people, and a reluctant Mahaf agrees.

November 28, 2002 - The preparations for Mahaf's trip is completed. After saying a tearful goodbye to his lover, Amun-Ra leads Mahaf to the ceremonial chamber. Mahaf notices the chamber is vacant save for himself and Ra, and Ra tells Mahaf his true intentions. Mahaf is to be banished to the Earth until every single threat to humankind is totally annihiliated. Mahaf tries to escape the chamber, but Ra overpowers him and forces him to Earth. Earlier that month, Hero 1 and his Omega Team had gone through the Rikti portal, essentially ending the Rikti invasion. Mahaf spends the next two months mourning the loss of his home and his loved one, Bast.

January 20, 2003 - Mahaf begins to fight various villain groups within the city. Maddened by his hatred for Ra, Mahaf mutilates and mangles his opponents, leaving their bodies gruesomely disfigured. He isn't registered as a hero, but none of the villains nor any of the witnesses recognize him. He remains an anonymous assassin for over a year.

June 27, 2004 - Mahaf loosely associates himself with a supergroup named The Underground. He remains with the team a few months before splitting off again. His mental health gets better, but his disdain for mortals keeps him from registering himself a hero. He becomes, once again, an anonymous assassin, but refrains from the mutilation of the villains he faces. During this time Mahaf takes down large numbers of various gangs and villain groups- mostly Circle of Thorns and Vahzilok.

March 28, 2005 - Mahaf meets a heroine named Alumette, whom he also learns is a deity like himself. He converses with this heroine many times within the coming weeks. He registers himself a hero of Paragon City during this time.

June 1, 2005 - Mahaf joins the Dawn Patrol with much persuasion from Alumette, whom he now considers his best ally on Earth. She also informs Mahaf that she's, in fact, not a deity herself, but that she is a vessel for the deity Mahaf previously thought her to be.

June 6, 2005 - Mahaf learns through a lengthy conversation with Alumette and her fiancee that he and such deities as Charon, the Grim Reaper, and Death are one and the same. This realization spins Mahaf's mind, and he begins planning a way to return to his home and his Bast.

June 8, 2005 - Mahaf talks with Alumette about his plans. Alumette is very troubled, and refuses to help him. Alumette's angered diety takes over her body when a dismayed and insane Mahaf begins to get aggressive. The two gods argue for about 30 minutes and cause hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of damage to parts of Steel Canyon, though they never really engage in battle. Mahaf moves from a state of insanity to deep depression, having been reminded of his lover by Alumette. Alumette's deity relinquishes her body back to her, leaving her greatly weakened. Mahaf carries an unconscious Alumette to the Steel Canyon hospital, where she eventually comes to. Mahaf tells Alumette that she was hit by an ambush of Freakshow, and that he had already signed the release form for her. She doesn't believe Mahaf, but agrees anyway. The two heroes travel back to the Dawn Patrol HQ, where Alumette's fiancee Dominic, known to the city as Stalking Shadow, awaits her. Mahaf leaves the HQ that night, and all but disappears from the city. He is seen only rarely, conversing with the heroine Alumette.
