That was the sound echoing through my head when I cracked my head on the ice, whee.
After a wonderful day of shopping at Ikea (yarp?) and then attempting to go grocery shopping with my fiancé and my future mother-in-law, apparently I hit a patch of ice outside the store. Funny, I don't remember a damn thing.
So here I am, four days off of work, with a headache and a sore neck. Whee, concussion!

You should file a frivolous lawsuit against the ice.

What did you expect? Ice is slippery.*

Thanks for the well wishes, folks.
I've thought about suing the grocery store where it happened. It -did- happen right by their front entrance, which should have been salted.
I'm a little leery about it though, I mean, **** happens, right?

The sad part is, you could probably win and walk away with a decent cash sum. On the other hand you might put the grocery store out of business... I think I'd stick with the '**** happens' train of thought.

If it cost you some money there's no real harm in filing suit. Doesn't have to be a huge million dollar sum, or take lawyers. Just $50 and some paperwork. File the suit for the amount of out-of-pocket it cost you.
However, the appropriate first step would be to contact the store directly. They might be willing to help you if you tell them.

Four days off work? They meld in with the weekend, you got ripped off man! :p
Either way, get better, bro.
And forget about the lawsuit, that's just a whole new headache waiting to happen.

Good to hear your better, and not following the American way and suing them
