View Full Version : What city zone would your hero fit in?

Fantasmo
06-12-2005, 04:58 PM
If you had to pick a city zone/area in Paragon where your hero would live or patrol, where would it be? What area would fit their personality the best.
I'll start.

Fantasmo - Steel Canyon
Captain Jupiter - Rikti Crash Site
The Emerald Idol - Perez Park

Charon

Definately King's Row.

Xielos

Steel Canyon

Bagman

King's Row as well. It's where I wrote the first story of Bagman, and his base of operations. He's more a street level hero.

When people think of street-level Heroes, they think of the ghetto of Paragon City...Kings Row.

So it seems like an appropriate area for Widdy. Either that or Independence Port. I'm not entirely sure....

inkblaster
06-12-2005, 05:43 PM
For Inkblaster I would say Brickstown and/or Crey's Folley, so he could keep an eye on Crey.

For Stargun, haven't been there yet, but Firebase Zulu I think.

For the Paragon Falcon, King's Row, it is the best zone for hopping rooftop to rooftop, bar none.

With my fellow Trolls in Skyway City of course!

Amen to that. :)

On the other hand, Indy Port's not that bad for creeping around above your prey and dropping down on them (or prowling below and popping up from beneath them), either. The buildings arranged in rows, the cargo stacks in the stockyards, the bridge cables and supports and underways, the big yellow crane tracks that pass over long stretches of the dock areas...oh, if you can find a way up onto those crane tracks, you can cover some serious ground without ever touching the street. :)

Not to mention that Widdy exists purely for the purpose of victimizing the victimizers. And the Mafi...erm, Family does plenty of that. Hmmm....

Okay. So even though Widdy's Crey profile puts her citizen residence as Kings Row, I'm thinking that maybe Indy Port is just enough of a dirty, gritty, violent crime zone for her tastes. There's not much housing in the port area, but she'll manage. Besides, about half of you are covering Kings Row already, so I'm sure you'll keep the people safe there. ;)

Atlas Park or Founders Falls

It's interesting you mention this - because there's a hero by the name of "The Paladin" who's known for being the guardian of Steel Canyon. He's often seen taking out high level ambushes and saving low level folks. :)

That sounds like a pretty good idea, actually....

Randomus

Randomus is Steel Canyon. PI is Indy Port (where he died). Wallace is Galaxy City, where his bar used to be.

Akamaz

Rottweiler
06-12-2005, 09:26 PM
At first The Yard was going to be King's Row, but I'd decided Indy Port and Steel Canyon. Rottie needs to protect not only the citizens but also Clark International and his investments and some of his shipments have been getting intercepted by The Family lately.

Momma's got Atlas Park covered, obviously. EMAC is located north of the entrance to Eastgate.

Hellion, born and raised in the Row, will always call it home. He now owns the bar around the SW corner from the tram.

Galactic Guy... duh. :chuckle:

Jade_Dragon
06-12-2005, 09:31 PM
Bloodwolf - King's Row and Brickstown. King's Row for the dark, sprawling slum setting, and Brickstown for Crey.

Jade Dragon - Atlas Park and Steel Canyon. Bright and heroic.

Blue Diamond - Skyway City, for the Trolls, and the Sewers, for Vahzilok.

Sandy - The Arena, or anywhere the Clockwork can be found.

Joe Everyman - Wherever a mugging occurs.

Bombshell would be living, at present, in an apartment in the 'upper scale' end of Kings Row; probably the southern, cheaper section of High Park.

Raventhorne didn't grow up in Paragon City but, at last report, was staying in a hotel that would probably be located in Founder's Falls.

Since there are no 'private estate' areas ingame, I'd place an in-city alternate residence for Baron vonShrike on Talos Island.

Libertyman

Duh! The guy's like an urban legend in the Hollows :)

SepTa
06-13-2005, 07:12 AM
mmmm... RP-wise, Septa's biggest patrol zone is the Rikti Crash Site. Been a Vanguard since the war, and very avidly and passionately fights back the Rikti. Working in the Golden Protectorate's Elite Class, he's also assigned to Paragon's most difficult and deadly challenges.

Fire Hawk would probably be the type protecting areas like Steel Canyon or Skyway City. Busy downtown-like areas where she can slip in and do her thing and use the tall buildings for cover. Founder's Falls, as well, although that's a lot more residential.

As his alter ego, Dragonfly both lives and works in Steel Canyon.

As for Cactus Man... I'm not sure. I guess I'll just say Atlas Park unless I find there's a more "deserty" part of Paragon I'm not thinking of. O_o

TopHat
06-13-2005, 07:36 AM
King of Spades - Founder's Fall
Red Queen - Steel Canyon

Princess Bree
06-13-2005, 07:44 AM
Bree - Peregrine (she is after all an island girl)

Erythropyre - the Hollows (where she came into being)

Sapphire Bullet - where ever she is at the moment

Prema Bellum - Talos (Only because it's where she lives now, she has no particular ties to Paragon in general.)

Esbat
06-13-2005, 07:52 AM
Dog Fight would patrol the area around the Atlas Statue seeing as that where all the pretty young things hang out... but now that he's taken its where Dixie is.

Ecto Phantom lives in Boomtown he's restored a little apartment there for him to feel "normal" and its great for some alone time with Tarby. :naughty:

Esbat is mobile, clear and simple. Her lab equipment is portable and she goes whereever she doesn't want to be bothered.

Masked Revenger
06-13-2005, 01:37 PM
Masked Revenger is a street level hero, but he's on a trail of drugs that started in Galaxy City and Atlas Park and has now lead him to the Family in IP and Strigia, so pretty much where ever the drug dealers are, he's there to stop them from selling the drugs to kids.

Captain Noble see's himself as a defender of the whole planet (there's a coming alien invasion force that's already destroyed his home world), and so he doesn't limit himself to any one zone.

Jr. Statesman is Atlas Park and the EMAC.

Bonestrike goes where ever those that killed her lie, which currently is in Galaxy City.

Xiaolin Cowboy is tougher to pick a single zone. He wasn't born in Paragon, and his personal philosophy is that the strong must protect the weak, so where ever the weak are being preyed upon. Where would a truck driver hang out?

Beat Poet like Atlas Park because there's always a crowed to listen to his poetry, and they have the best coffee houses.

Johny Atomic is in Galaxy City, because it most makes him feel like being on Darr. ;)

TroubleWolf
06-13-2005, 03:19 PM
When Wolf was still "in the public eye", he hung out in The Row, with the Bone Squad.

Since going incognito, he has been lurking in Dark Astoria, slaughtering wave upon wave of undead creatures.

If you have a limp, be careful when you walk through DA... it's foggy, and you may be mistaken for a zombie.

D'Arkaine

hmm...given his history,
Vindicator would patrol FF or the crash site...probably FF to protect citizens against the rikti. even though the gauntlet's offices are in talos near the DA entrance.

D'Arkaine...im not sure - probably atlas park. He can do street magic for the families in the park and try to drum up business.

Angrytownsman - prolly KR. former cop...

Sparkz - brickstown - she unknowingly works for crey.

Patriot Boy - i have no idea. he's follwing in his father's footsteps as a hero. I havent worked out his father's history enough to know where to stick the kid.

Polar Wave - brickstown - he knowling works for crey

Daikatana - no real history yet. My initial take on this char doesn't feel right.

None of my characters allow themselves to be limited to any one place.

Jude has a pad in Atlas but spends much of his time in Kings Row.
Special Brew is so mobile I'm not entirely sure where he lives.
Daeva has an appartment in Kings Row, in that big building with the three wells rising up through it.

Prema Bellum - Talos (Only because it's where she lives now, she has no particular ties to Paragon in general.)

Her dear "brother" Azure will be hurt to hear that, but he currently resides in Talos as well..it's easier for him to get to his lovely lady in Founders. (btw....has Prema heard the news yet?)

Frost Sampson also resides in a high rise in Talos. It's not far from Peregrine and easy for him to get from place to place.

Sterling Saber currently is sharing a small apartment ( :chuckle: also in sin -> Alumette) with his girlfriend. He also teaches kendo at a local dojo there.

Doctor Blight lives in a penthouse with his equally loaded girlfriend, that overlooks Atlas Park.

Eternal Bane has his own place in Galaxy City....but it's usually frequented by a very close friend of his ;)

Tygerwolf stays in Steel Canyon where he can easily slip back into his everyday business suits after patrolling and heroes.

As for my heroes on Victory....

Artic Havok stays wherever he can. :chuckle: Right now he's having a blast being wherever Chaos is.

Silver Panther I'd think would also stay either in Steel Canyon as he's a up and coming businessman

Jade_Dragon
06-13-2005, 05:25 PM
Well, I answered this question before, but that was more about which Zone's tone "fit" the character. Which they would be most "at home" in. I didn't really think about where they would actually live, so I think I'll add that...

Jade Dragon and Blue Diamond - In my original version of the story, Richard and Robert were roommates. (Along with Element Dog, who just appears to be an ordinary dog as Scott) They live in an apartment in the suburbs of Houston. However, they also have a building in Hermann Park (downtown Houston) which they use as a headquarters, and a place where the public can contact them as the Crime Fighters.

So keeping with that "tradition", they probably have a place in Atlas Park. Since their identities are public in this reality, there would be no reason for them to live in one place, and have their "headquarters" in another. Since it's likely that Freedom Corps provides special housing for superheroes, it's probably just a typical superhero apartment. At some point, they may move up to a Supergroup headquarters.

Bloodwolf - As I mention in his Crey report, Bloodwolf has NOT taken Freedom Corps' offer on living quarters. He doesn't trust anyone, not even the hero organizations. He lives on the streets, either patrolling or just appearing as an ordinary bum. King's Row is most likely where he hangs out when resting, as he can blend in the best there. (Now that I think about it, he has probably also carved out a Batcave-like lair somewhere in King's Row, probably in the sewers. It's location is probably one of the best kept secrets in the city, however...)

Sandy - She's the hardest to decide on, as the only real connection she has to the city is through her father, and Crey. Because he "stole Crey property", (i.e., Sandy) however, her father probably moved away, for his own safety. So Sandy, again, would probably just have typical Freedom Corps accomodations, trying to make it on her own. She probably currently lives in Steel Canyon, since it's the most likely zone to hold the majority of superhero apartments. (Apex and War Witch's were there)

Seem would live in Brickstown because of the easy access to Crey's Folly and the crash site because he likes to tinker with things which he could find on the remains of Rikti soldiers and pillage from the crash site and enjoys hunting down the Crey agents that killed his family. :cuss:

Black Psalm would probably live on Striga Isle because there is predominantly Council agents there and he is just Requiem looking for a legal reason to kill council agents.

Techno Paragon would live in the crashed Rikti ship because he was born in the hospital under the crashed ship and his mother died during the impact of the ship so he wants to protect her remains.

For that matter, if there are Crey buildings in the lower-level zones, why couldn't Cryptic put some low-level Riot Guards and Mob Specialists around them? After all, they have that one guy fanning the broken drone in Outbreak....

Yeah, I finally rediscovered the Crey drone repair guy while I was running Madame Sinister through Outbreak. I actually clicked on him and saw his name, and then I suddenly remembered first seeing that name all the way back when Widdy was a mere SL1 making her way through Outbreak (oh, the distant memories...) and thinking "What's a Crey?". And then when I later heard of the Crey Industries storylines, I had long since forgotten about our little Crey friend back in Outbreak....

So why do you suppose that Outbreak guy exists? Is he part of some insidious plot to convince young, impressionable Heroes that Crey is okay?

A promotion to what? Crey guy who just stands around because he's too good to fix stolen Rikti drones? Crey guy who takes notes for Coyote? Crey guy who wanders randomly around Freedom Plaza (all three of them)? Crey guy who sweeps the floors at City Hall, watching to see which Supergroups form up? :chuckle:

Graphite
06-15-2005, 10:24 PM
Hmm, never given this too much thought...

For Graphite, I'd have to say Steel Canyon. Just something about all the sky rising buildings and clean environment. When I first got Teleport, I really enjoyed standing on the top, amongs the gargoyles waiting for trouble. Rp wise, he use to live in Boomtown: No rent, easy place to hide equipment, and reminded him of home (the surface at least). Then about Jan he moved to Riverhaven with the Titans, where ever that is (I *think* its Steel but not sure).

Wu Shu (the Adept) is easy: Kings Row like so many other urban vigilantees.

Greux feels like he belongs in the Hallows amungst the Trolls and rock monsters (forgot the name atm). As a kobold I'm sure he'd live quite well amongst the caves.

For Khamsin or Gaiden, I have no idea. Certainly are no deserts for Khamsin though he might enjoy the Shadow Shard. Gaiden isn't ment to *fit* in with mammals.

You know, this is such a good thread, I think I'll revive it:

Shadow lives in Founder's Falls, but his major area of concentration is with large corporations like Crey, organized crime like the Family, and high-tech spy outfits like Malta, or the Council. That said, he generally spends a lot of time in heavy industrial areas of Paragon City, such as Independence Port, Crey's Folly, Peregrine Island, and Striga Island, as well as other places that Crey would use as a corporate headquarters, such as Kings Row, or Brickstown, or Founder's Falls.

Have suits, will travel.

You know, this topic seems familiar somehow (http://www.cohguru.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4480)....

Yeah, but this one's older. :D

By the way, Meltman would fit in any of the city zones.

He's not that fat.

With Dayman, I'd have to say Steel Canyon.

As for my new bird alt, WingFrost, I can see him living up on one of Striga's many cliffaces.

Dove Cry was born and raised in the small town/village of Salamanca. Residing in one of the many grand farmhouses, It's only natural that she'd be a self-proclaimed protector of Croatoa.

Grande Brasil lives in Indy Port with his father, who owns a bar. Since his powers come from the earth, he probably would be drawn to the Hollows and other places with extensive caverns.

Infact when I get to 50 Visual will frequent that area, often aiding low level heroes new to the zone.

Seadevil would definately be either IP or Talos Island. Probably Talos since that appearantly leads to open ocean (Or will once the war walls come down)
