I think of the big space platform railgun in that 2-part of Justice League episode where Vandal Savage tries using it to take over the world...


...mostly because Batman was especially awesome in that one.

I'm all for something that can replace the million dollar cruise missiles they use currently. If we're going to be shooting the damned things off, can we not bankrupt the nation doing so? That, and the idea of eliminating gunpowder isn't a bad thing either. Working with it is dangerous, and one of the biggest reasons ships have been sunk historically is hits to the powder magazine. Huzzah for safer, non-explosive alternatives.

But now that we have the guns that use it, can we get the Maglev trains past the basic initial stages and into widespread use, hmm?
