Meh... the lack of any real violence in those cartoons makes them seem so silly now.
Thundarr the Barbarian(he who could only communicate by yelling at the top of his lungs) had that lightsaber like sword yet could only manage to cut holes in doors and walls.
Every time the G.I. Joe guys shot down a COBRA aircraft, the pilot was able to bail out.(they could hit a flimsy helicopter with a 10 megaton nuke and the pilot would manage to bail in time O_o )
The Transformers? They never got a scratch!
At least in the old days, Wile E. Coyote would fall off a cliff. Sure, he survived, but was mangled and twisted until the next scene. :p

You need to be more specific, Mahaf? Are you talking about a disney cartoon, then it was probably Tale Spin with the aerial pirates.
You know... Now that I think back on the nummerous Disney cartoons I watched as a child, no wonder I like Pulp heroes so much, most of the disney cartoons were pulp heroes. Tale Spin was like an animal version of the G-8, while Darkwing Duck was a cartoon version of The Shadow and Duck Tales were using the explorer theme quite often at one point. Hell most of the adventures in Rescue Rangers were pulp'ish in nature.
It has come to my attention, that in the US they were all part of the "Disney Afternoon" series, that's still running. Along with some of my favorite later shows.

I was just talking about MacGyver a couple of nights ago! I got thinking about it because my friends and I during poker started to refer to a specific hand you're dealt, a 2 and a different colored 7, as a MacGyver, 'cause you'd need to pull something out of your ass like him, if you want to win with those cards.

You need to be more specific, Mahaf? Are you talking about a disney cartoon, then it was probably Tale Spin with the aerial pirates.
I found it! The Pirates of Dark Water was the name. :p It's a Hanna-Barbera cartoon.
And here's a picture from the series.. On the left is the fearless Ren, son of the king of Octopon, on his mission to recover the mystical Thirteen Treasures of Rule, scattered across the alien world of Mer, in order to stop the Dark Water, a tarlike, semi-sentient substance poisoning Mer's seas that swallows anything it touches! And on the right is Ioz, an ex-pirate who'll never turn down a chance to get his hands on gold or treasure. Aye carumba!
