Gurus, please hold a good thought/send good vibes/say a prayer/whatever you are inclined to do for my mother. She was admitted to the ER today and is in pretty rough shape. Thank you.

Positive thoughts & well wishes for her.

If its not too personal, what does rough shape mean?

I don't want to sound stupid making wishes for a "speedy recovery" of something one doesn't recover from... nor do I want to assume the worst and wish her a gentle passing.

Regardless, I hope everything works out for the best.

Thank you very much, guys.

Your prayers and good thoughts must be helping. I have been talking to her for the past couple of days and she seems to be improving.

They still don't know what's wrong, and she is still in the hospital. They are running every possible test you can imagine on her. Her potassium levels were dangerously low, for one, and they got those back up so she is more lucid and more "herself" now, but still in a lot of pain. Her kidneys are also functioning again, so that is very good. She has "graduated" to clear liquids, but can only eat so much before she gets sick again, so she is still on IV's and is having maybe a popsicle and a thing of jello a day.

I just wish they knew what was wrong.

I appreciate your kind words; I'll let you know as soon as I get more news. Your support means a lot.

Thank you very much, everyone. It means a lot. Your good vibes must have helped because my mom was discharged from the hospital on Wednesday and is home resting.

Without going into too much detail, she is recovering okay and will have some follow-up appointments soon. Basically it was a combination of concussion, broken ribs, broken hand, kidney failure, massive dehydration, rejection of all food, and a need for intravenous antibiotics. It was very, very scary for me. I'm not ready to lose either of my parents.

So... yeah. Thank you for letting me get that out there, and for showing your support. She will be back on her feet in no time.

Um Yikes, sounds like she mixed it up with Recluse. Hope everything is ok.
